JOB DESCRIPTION
SIGMADESIGN is a fun, fast-paced engineering consulting company currently experiencing explosive growth. We are looking for an Assembly Technician. Curiosity, competency and confidence are a must.
Primary Function :
Responsible for assembling and building prototypes and products utilizing various tools in support of SIGMADESIGN’s engineering production and manufacturing activities. Occasionally provides support in the form of documentation and troubleshooting until units/parts are completed to acceptable test procedures and routing operations.
Essential Job Functions – Responsibilities :
- Performs processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies, subassemblies, electrical wiring, and wire harness assembly using common hand tools and electronic lab tooling.
- Tests functional performance of assembly and observes and records results.
- Assembles products according to routings and blueprints; measures parts to specified tolerances.
- Uses hand tools, chemicals and adhesives as needed.
- Maintains and monitors test equipment as necessary to ensure continued accuracy.
- Keeps production supervisors advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignments.
- Demonstrate Technical Capacity, Learning Orientation, Time Management, and Thoroughness Skills.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment including tools and assembly production areas.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Minimum NITEC in any Engineering discipline
- Minimum one year of recent direct or related experience required.
- Basic computer literacy skills, basic file structure understanding, and web navigation; working knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Experience and ability reading and creating simple schematics; able to strictly follow engineering directions or procedures as required.
- Ability to multitask (make progress on multiple unrelated projects) and prioritize workload.
- Detail oriented with a focus on quality, execution and follow through.
- Hands-on skills and mechanical aptitude skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Experience or familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other typical electronic lab equipment a plus.
Work Environment:
Standard lab/production environment. Air-conditioned facility. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.
