The role of the Shift Worker Switchboard Operator is to deal with internal and external callers, and to transfer calls to appropriate departments and staff efficiently.
The post-holder will be required to manage general callers enquiries in a polite and calm manner. You will also be responsible for processing emergency calls and various alarms.
The role is suitable for an individual that can work alone after being fully trained.
Candidates will be fully supported during the training period and will shadow a current shift worker for part of the training period

Key Duties:
• To answer calls into switchboard and direct call to the appropriate departments and staff, and to deal callers general enquiries.
• To process emergency calls and alarms.
• To process bleep and pager communications.
• Record actions as required.
You will be working part of your shifts with a team of 3 other staff, of a contingent of eight others and a part time manager.
Other shifts will involve relieving your counterpart lone shift worker.
All operators work in the same Switchboard Office.
