Dow has exciting job opportunities for Production Operators in Kendallville, IN in the Silicone Rubber manufacturing facility.
About you and this role - What you would do in this role
Do you prefer a manufacturing role where you are able to work as an independent contributor on an empowered team? In this role, you will work with a diverse product slate such that no two subsequent days are generally the same. You will also be able to own your work while you safely produce and package high quality silicone rubber.
Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role.
- Operate extruders, conveyors, and other auxiliary equipment safely and efficiently according to procedures.
- Perform product inspection such that you maintain exceptional quality for your customers.
- Maintain a clean work environment to ensure the safety of yourself and your peers.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance/Reliability on customer issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Complete training and attend safety meetings to enable your understanding of your work.
- Communicate with a diverse team of logistics, maintenance and support staff.
Qualifications - Required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves).
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED Equivalent.
- Willing and able to work 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm) or 3rd shift (11pm - 7am).
- Able to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Physical Requirements:
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. throughout the day, with potential to handle 5,000-10,000 lbs. per shift.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to earplugs, goggles, hard hat and steel-toed shoes.
- Work in an area with hazardous materials.

- Basic understanding of computers to perform job tasks.
