What you will be doing

- Manage processes and provide support to allow the project to capture scope, programme, cost, performance, assurance and health and safety information, and integrate to provide a monthly update to agreed deadlines.
- Ensure programme, cost, risk, change and report data integrity is maintained through the life of the project.
- Monitor and control programme compliance in respect of our contractual obligations.
- Manage the preparation of on-going project reviews and provide advice on corrective actions.
- Ensure that fully integrated multi-discipline programmes are produced using planning software and spreadsheets, that include resources and are cost loaded.
- Monitor programme and cost trends; provide analysis and forecasting to the Leadership Team to drive project delivery, accountability, responsibility, and efficiency. ·
- Establish operating policies and practices to mitigate risk on behalf of the project.
- Update and manage the Planning and Project Controls strategies for the Alliance. ·
- Responsible for the provision of a professional planning and project controls service which identifies and complies with all statutory, mandatory, and contractual requirements. ·
- Lead the planning & reporting team and ensure all information is produced and available for project reviews and all other internal or external requirements.
- Oversee all planning and reporting activities ensuring integration and de-confliction, whilst maximising all opportunities to gain efficiencies and drive improved performance.
- Continue to work with other disciplines to develop useful and accurate reports and other information for the Commercial and Delivery teams.


Who we are looking for

- Planning team leadership is essential, managing interfaces within a multi-discipline project environment throughout the full lifecycle (i.e design/build/commission) is essential, rail is desirable, Alliance or Joint Venture experience is desirable
- Experienced management of programme interfaces across multiple disciplines. An ability to proactively, extract and assimilate information from multiple sources and present in a manner that clearly communicates work scope to multiple stakeholders.

What is the Role?

As a Smart Buildings Business Manager, you will play a critical role in driving our expansion efforts and identifying new fostering strategic partnerships.

Youll be leading our Smart Buildings team of engineers and sales people in Yorkshire.

- Reporting to the Operations Director, youll be responsible for the development and execution of the Yorkshire business plan, including financial performance and all aspects of operational delivery.

- Youll lead an engineering team working with you to achieve planned objectives and budgets focused on both business and customer needs.

- Youll also work with the sales department to grow market share within the new build construction market in and around Yorkshire; and youll be a key member of the Business Management Team contributing to company strategy development.

- With budget responsibility youll forge strong relationships which will ensure commercial and financial compliance; confident the business unit objectives you set are clear and engaging at all levels youll regularly monitor and make improvements to maximise efficiencies.

- Your passion for the role will mean you have a strong feel for activity in the market place ensuring competitor and market differentiation which will make for informed decision making.

What do I Need?

To be considered for the role, you will need:

- Leadership skills are paramount to your success as its essential that your stakeholders, up to and including the Senior Management team, are fully supportive of your operational objectives, plans and achievements and that a collaborative approach to meeting business challenges is established.

- Youll bring a solid operational background working at a Senior Management level and as such will have experience, leading projects and support engineering teams within the construction industry, preferably within the BEMS Sector.

- Youll demonstrate a strong commercial acumen and be comfortable presenting findings through accurate forecasting and reporting. You should be an inspiration to others, setting out clear direction, developing innovative plans and identifying opportunities for improvement.

- Performance Management reviews will be required with your direct reports to ensure objectives are clearly set, skill gaps identified and development plans set and reviewed.

- As youll be traveling to different sites its essential that you hold a full driving licence.

THE ROLE

As Project Surveyor you are a valuable part of our clients business, where they lead the team on a project or cluster of packages having full accountability for the development and implementation of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions and contract reporting. You will take the lead; working collaboratively with all customers and industry specialists with a firm focus on added value, compliance, commercial viability, and best practice.

· Manage the project commercial team ensuring all Main Contract obligations are met and process obligations are complete with particular reference to Procurement, Sub-contract orders, Managing Supply Chain, Measurements and Valuations, Contractual Notices and Valuing Change

· Complete and submit Monthly Cost Reports, Procurement Strategy Updates and Internal/External Progress Reports alongside developing and implementing internal and external tender stage and delivery strategies

· Agree external valuations upstream/downstream to maintain a positive project cashflow and produce and agree main and subcontract final accounts
