Job Description
Job Summary:
Support profitable growth by providing Teledyne Brown Engineering with aerospace, defense, space, and commercial advanced manufacturing market insight and by engaging new clients and new divisions within existing clients in a way that bolsters Teledyne’s brand. Will build an expanding opportunity pipeline and regularly closing on strategic growth opportunities. Must be comfortable creating opportunities independently and in conjunction with the broader Teledyne group of companies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / NEEDS:
• Be familiar with defense and space markets. Experience working with prime government contractors and sub-tier suppliers.
• Comfortable with using and refining CRM tools. Regularly report out on funnel value, timelines, and other analytics.
• Work with segment marketing resources to best define customer targets and strategic opportunities/markets.
• Collaborate with Program Management in support of identifying new opportunities within existing customers.
• Work with Proposals team to develop best quote to win strategy, with a mind for maximizing financial favorability.
• Familiarity with contracts (language, negotiations, etc.…). Work closely with contracts team.
• Learn, at a high level, capabilities of other Teledyne companies. Work with your intracompany peers to identify and/or close joint selling opportunities.
• Must be comfortable working closely with all levels of our customer’s organization (supply chain, procurement, engineering quality, c-suite, etc.…)
• Facilitate and participate in various meetings driving business goals and objectives. Implement and utilize a gate-review or similar process.
• Analyze and understand complex issues using data, statistics, qualitative information, documentation, etc. to determine next steps.
• Provide reports and updates on tasks, activities, and projects to senior leadership.
• May direct and lead others in performing assigned projects and meeting deliverables. This may be both indirect and direct reporting.
• Ability to travel up to 60%. (Typically, domestic US)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• 10+ years in leadership of others, direct and/or indirect
• 4-Year degree required, post-graduate education (e.g., MBA) is a plus.

Experience
• 20+ years of functional and technical business development related work
• 10+ years in leadership of others, direct and/or indirect
• Must have demonstrated excellence a business development leader in an advanced manufacturing setting.
• Requires familiarity with supply chain/logistics, trade/compliance, engineering/test, operations/ production, and business financials.
• Working knowledge of business tools such as ERP, MRP, CRM, MS Office, GovWin, etc. Skills
• Strong attention to details and technical skills, while keeping overall strategy in mind
• Ability to analyze complex tasks, activities, projects, and situations to determine skills and set resources (time, funds, individuals, and tools)
• Self-motivated, sound decision making, and strong organization skills.
• Ability to tailor communication and messaging within varying levels of the organization and within the customer’s organization.
• Able to lead and facilitate across departments and levels of the organization in formal and informal settings.
