Oxford Economics, a leading global economic research and consultancy firm, is seeking an Associate Director, Business Development for the Asia region. This strategic role will help drive the firm's growth across the region by overseeing complex sales cycles, managing high-value client relationships, and shaping regional business development strategies. This position is ideal for a seasoned leader with extensive experience in sales and business development, looking to step into a role with greater responsibility and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Management:
Drive the business development strategy for the Asia region, ensuring alignment with overall corporate objectives. Own the sales pipeline from start to finish, with full accountability for individual and team revenue targets.
- Complex Sales & Solutions Development:
Lead the creation and execution of complex, high-value proposals that address clients' strategic needs. Develop integrated subscription and consulting solutions, effectively positioning Oxford Economics against top competitors in the market.
- Regional Strategy & Market Expansion:
Identify growth opportunities in new and existing markets across Asia, leading regional initiatives to drive market penetration. Regularly contribute to and lead strategic territory planning to grow Oxford Economics’ presence in the region.
- Leadership & Team Development:
Manage, mentor, and develop junior team members, including Business Development Executives and interns. Provide strategic oversight, training, and hands-on support to help the team exceed sales targets and professional growth.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key clients, becoming a trusted advisor and strategic partner. Lead negotiations on high-stakes deals, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and retention.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, including consultancy, research, and product development, to align business development activities with broader organizational goals. Act as a bridge between sales and product development to ensure client needs are met with tailored solutions.
- Strategic Initiatives & Thought Leadership:
Take a leading role in regional and global strategic business initiatives. Contribute thought leadership on trends impacting the economic landscape and business development practices in the Asia region.
Skills & Experience - Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (economics, business, finance, marketing); advanced degree preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in business development and sales, with a proven track record of managing complex sales processes and surpassing revenue targets.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills such as Bahasa, Thai, or Tagalog are desirable.
- Strong understanding of economics, consultancy services, and market dynamics in Asia.
- Demonstrated ability to lead regional sales teams and manage multiple high-priority projects concurrently.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
- Strong leadership and team management experience, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and team growth.
- Highly organized, strategic thinker with an ability to manage complex client relationships and sales pipelines.
