The post holder will manage small projects and lead workstreams of larger projects. The post holder will be responsible for their own delegated activities and decision making, referring to the Head of Digital Transformation and/or Senior Project Managers on exception. The Production & Modernisation Department manage a number of projects that deliver the organisations digital solutions. These solutions often include implementing a new Clinical Information Systems and/or systems development. The post holder will have a high level of autonomy, within the confines of their assigned projects and/or workstreams and is expected to work without day-to-day supervision. They will be suitably skilled and knowledgeable to: Draft all relevant notes and other associated media for assigned projects and workstreams. Ensure the delivery of work packages within agreed timescales and budgets. Manage risks, issues and actions, and report these to the responsible Senior Project Manager where applicable. Ensure that small projects and workstreams are fully accountable to ensure patient safety and quality of care is at the forefront. Establish necessary monitoring and tracking toolkits to support the business throughout delivery of assigned projects and workstreams. Liaise with the Digital Development Manager to ensure any data migration tasks relating to the project workstreams is undertaken accurately within agreed project timescales. Ensure system testing and interface testing is undertaken thoroughly and to an agreed specification within agreed project timescales. Liaise with the Business Analysis Team to ensure they produce quality business cases for new Digital Projects. Liaise with Clinical Informatics to ensure Clinical Safety Assessments are undertaken when required and delivered within agreed project timescales. Liaise with Data, Analytics & Assurance to ensure reporting requirements for new systems are specified and delivered within agreed project timescales. Responsible to the Head of Digital Transformation for providing an overview of the status of assigned projects and workstreams. Responsible for planning own priorities. Quality assuring documentation produced by self and other project team members. Prepare Project stage and exception plans in conjunction with other project team members and stakeholders. Ensure the production of Highlight and End Stage Reports. Manage risks and issues, maintaining a risk and issues log. Responsible for all appropriate elements of project administration. Work with the Digital Testing Manager to plan for all testing, including User Acceptance Testing, as part of project planning. Work with the Digital Training Manager to plan training for end users as part of project planning. Contribute to communications with project stakeholders in accordance with the project Communications Plan. Contribute to ensure overall direction and integrity of the project. Chair meetings and ensure requirements and actions are fully documented and communicated. Attend Project Meetings and present workstream update reports, risks and issues. Lead on changes in working processes as part of projects using recognised change management techniques. Escalate any issues to the Head of Digital Transformation and/or Senior Project Managers, as required.

About You

We are looking for a Project Manager based in Milton, Queensland, for our Queens Wharf Brisbane project. This is a 12-month fixed-term role and reports to the Operations Manager for New Equipment (NE) and Modernization (MOD).

In this role, you will be key in managing and administering Otis NE & Mod contracts according to Otis’s ‘Sales Installation Process’ (SIP).

As a Project Manager, your key responsibilities will include

• Manage and Administer Otis NE & Mod contracts according to the Otis’ ‘Sales Installation Process’ (SIP).

• Sets objectives and priorities, assigns and reviews tasks, performance, and staffing requirements, and maintains the resource plan.

• Maintains a high-performance team by recruiting, developing, and motivating field labor, setting appropriate standards of performance, and coaching the team.

• Ensures that Installation teams maintain approved site programs, attend site meetings, and exercise line authority over all allocated installation field labor.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, government inspectors, consultants, and within the Otis to understand business challenges and recommend innovative integrated business solutions.

• Ensures that reports, contract records, site diaries, accident reports, time sheets, and manpower charts are completed and submitted as required by Otis policies/procedures and state requirements.

• Proactively reports project risk and deliverable issues and participates in monthly project reviews with the branch and head office.

What you will need to be successful

• A tertiary qualification in Building or Engineering is preferred, and/or an Electrical or Mechanical Trade Certificate.

• Minimum five (5) years experience in project managing Lift installations.

• Engage frequently and effectively with various stakeholders within Sales, New Equipment, Contract Management, Builders, Consultants, and other project stakeholders.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Effective planning and organizational skills.

• Be a self-starter who can work safely and efficiently in a dynamic environment.

• Able to work autonomously and in a team with minimal supervision.

• Have a commitment to excellence, innovation, and work ethics.

KBR is providing Project Management Services encompassing Engineering, Procurement, phase execution supporting KBR’s client Sonangol’s multi-billion-dollar grass roots Lobito Refinery Project in Angola Africa.  KBR’s Project Management Team is responsible for the overall management of the Owner’s EPC Contractor’s contract.

The Project Controls Manager will be the Project Management Company’s (PMC) representative and be part of KBR’s China Project assigned Team overseeing project controls function by EPC Contractor located in China.  After the engineering and procurement activities are completed and construction work become significant the Project Control Manager will be assigned to the job site in Angola.   

KBR is looking for a Project Controls Manager to be accountable for the performance of the project controls discipline.  This role will manage the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to team members and participate in the development of functional strategy and procedures estimating, project risk control, cost control, and scheduling.

***This position will mobilize to China to start then mobilizing to Lobito, Angola***

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the project’s, cost controls, change management, risk management, earned value, and scheduling efforts
• Drive effective execution of project control functions on various capital projects
• Evaluate project health status and maintain effective communication with project leadership
• Ensure that project controls systems and processes are implemented and continue to deliver accurate project status
• Evaluate project contracts and commercial terms to ensure that the project controls processes are aligned to address any specific needs
• Interdisciplinary communications with engineering, construction, and procurement to coordinate project activities and inputs
• External communications with client, subcontractors, and joint venture partners for coordination on data integration and reporting
• Review and audit cost, progress and schedule reports that are prepared regarding project controls

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
• 12 + years of experience in Project controls
• Proficiency in, project health assessments, cost analysis, forecasting, budget development, P6 and scheduling techniques and variance reporting techniques
• Experience in managing analytical and data-centric project controls
• Advanced skills with reporting through Microsoft Power BI
• Must be able to self-lead and communicate effectively to all levels of project team, including management and clients

Preferred active PMP and/or AACE Certification or the interest/ability to achieve these certifications
