We are recruiting a Fire and Security Engineer to join our Fire and Security team, based in Banbury. You will form part of a dedicated team responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and installation on life safety and security systems such as Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, CCTV, warden call and door access, ensuring the properties are safe and compliant. This role includes a company van as you will be based in Sutton Coldfield and will cover different areas across the Midlands. There are also opportunities for overtime, as and when required, at the rate of time and a half.
The role of Fire and Security Engineer will include:
- Carrying out the servicing, remedial works and installation of fire alarms, extinguishers and security systems, including warden call
- Maintaining systems including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire shutters and curtains to ensure safe and compliant properties
- Resolving problems or setting into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
- Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to City & Guilds qualification or NVQ 3 in relevant trade is desirable. Example fire alarm or fire detection systems, safe isolation, small works certificate or a wiliness to work towards with the support of Sanctuary Group
- Experience of undertaking a similar role, working in a fire and security environment
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
- Knowledge of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
