Job Overview

-To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the sites published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and any subsequent changes.

-Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer through full responsibility and accountability, providing a service that aids in the retention of the contract.

Main Duties

Operations

-To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-Proactively refer to and review the published Assignment Instructions, thus familiarising oneself with any changes in order to suggest additional amendments that will improve or enhance the current level of service.

-To be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation (you are required to obtain a front-line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision), which must be worn at all times whilst carrying out your duties. The Customer also requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. There are also additional courses that are contractually required.

-Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.

-Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.

-Work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.

Training

-Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.

-You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.

Security and Health & Safety

-Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.

-Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.

-Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.

-To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.

-Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.

-Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

-To ensure check calls are being carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).

-To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.

• To be responsible to the Senior Civil Engineering Officer for assisting with the provision of the civil engineering function within the Parks and Leisure department to agreed quality, time and budget targets and project management functions.
• To successfully engage and work in liaison with a range of key internal and external stakeholders.
• To assist with and contribute to, in liaison with the Senior Civil Engineering Officer and Landscape Planning and Development Manager and as agreed and prioritised by the Department's Land and Capital Programme, an annual programme of project work involving civil engineering and to help prioritise, timetable and cost the work for approval.
• To assist with the supervision of the annual small works civil engineering tender so as to ensure that all work is completed to agreed quality, time and budget targets.
• To provide specialist civil engineering knowledge and advice to other client sections and departments and to contribute to corporate working groups as required.
• To assist with the preparation and supervision of the annual bitumen macadam contract and small civil engineering contract.
• To assist with the implementation and maintenance of a parks pathways, roadways and hard surfaces inspection system, including DDA implementation.
• To prepare payment certificates for projects and assist with the execution of the monetary control.
• To participate in playground construction projects, including surveying, preparation of tender documents and supervision of the work.

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.

Based in Omagh, working 36 hours per week Monday to Friday 9-5pm, the successful candidate will work at an Executive Officer grade on a temporary basis, for our client's Pre-School Education Programme and support for the Pre-School Education Group (PEG).

The successful candidate will have excellent MS Excel skills including use of Pivot tables, graphs, look-up functions and formulas. They will also provide administrative support, follow set procedures, and exercise some independent judgement in carrying out instructions under general supervision.

The rate of pay for this role is £12.94 per hour.

Duties will include:

• Supervise staff including the allocation of tasks, checking output, quality and quantity of work, rotation and reallocation of duties or workload
• Ensure staff are appraised in line with the Education Authority's Staff Appraisal Procedures and assist in compiling a staff development plan for the team in accordance with the Education Authority's Staff Development Policy to maximise the potential of staff
