Position Summary
Thales requires a User Experience (UX) Researcher Intern. As a UX Researcher Intern, you will be involved in user research, value proposition and market / business engagements supporting innovations targeting the naval platforms in-service support programs. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for the definition of value propositions given inputs such as gap analysis, data from program operations, pain points / jobs-to-be-done description, user experience research and others. You will work in collaboration with the rest of the Innovation Team to validate market segments with internal and external stakeholders and perform outreach to potential customers in order to gather insights. You will also work with the Program Team in order to understand value propositions for which solutions may require some development.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Contribute to the development of value propositions relevant to the in-service support of Navy vessels by running workshops, interviews, or other activities involved in approaches such as design thinking;
- Responsible to gather data from users required to build business cases for Program initiatives, which includes value for the DND/RCN and/or Thales and the anticipated return on investment – both of which should be credible, defendable and based on well-defined models.
- Perform user research and market research based on the company strategy and competitive landscape.
- Work closely with internal teams to gather insights, share findings, and contribute to the development of innovative business and product design strategies; and.
- With the Program Team, develop ways of measuring current and future metrics, which can be used to quantify value of innovations / continuous improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th year in an undergraduate program or Master’s student in a relevant discipline (e.g., finance, business, engineering).
- Demonstrated ability to run workshops to identify user needs and business requirements.
- Proven problem solving and analytic skills with a track record of successful business outcomes.
- Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization;
