Job Overview:

Mitie is looking for a Retail security officer who can deliver exceptional customer service whilst creating a safe shopping environment, free from the fear of crime for customers and colleagues.

It is preferrable that you hold a current SIA licence or SIA Certificates (but in some circumstances training for a licence can be provided)



Vetting

It is vital that you have a full 5-year checkable employment/education history, failure to do so could mean your offer will be withdrawn or your employment stopped.

Main duties:

-To deliver industry leading customer service

-To deter violence and public order offences

-To conduct patrols of the store

-Utilising CCTV systems to support the reduction of crime and stock loss

-Liaise with the store management teams

-Liaise with the Police and crime partnerships where required to foster a great working relationship to support the reduction of crime in store

-To wear Body Worn CCTV to support in the reduction of crime and increase colleague and customer safety

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Site Supervisor to join the Security Team at Oxford Science Park. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities across a multi-commercial property. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of security experience and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of working effectively in a busy environment that manages multiple companies under one roof.

Job Overview

Main Duties

-To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Security.

-Be the first point of contact for the Security team and deal with day-to-day matters such as standards of dress, discipline, and conduct are met and adhered to.

-Assist in on-going training to resident security teams and ensure all new security officers are fully trained and inducted to the site procedures and policies including CCTV, access control systems, deliveries and removals, fire alarms and intruder alarm.

-Develop teamwork within the workforce, ensuring high morale through effective motivational methods.

-Assist in review of Security Officers performance and development.

-To assist in any security / equipment investigations, i.e. thefts, missing items, complaints etc.

-Provide customer / client liaison as and when required.

-Ensure Assignment Instructions are adhered to at all times by security and shipping personnel.

-Ensure that any important messages are conveyed in the Security Handover and that all security personnel read and acknowledge them.

-Ensuring security records and logs are being kept up to date.

-Ensure the security team are compliant with all relevant legislation on data protection.

This position serves as a key support role for the team. The role involves both day and night shifts, each lasting 12 hours. There is no set shift pattern as this is covering holiday and sickness.

This role is an integral part of the on-site emergency response team. As such, you will be required to successfully complete a fit test on-site. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive first aid training along with FREC Level 3 training. Employees must maintain a clean-shaven appearance in order to properly use breathing apparatuses. also be Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Strong communication skills are essential, including proficiency in report writing, one-on-one discussions, radio communication, and logbook entries.

The Customer also requires a CCTV PSS SIA Licence. There are also additional courses that are contractually required.

The shift schedule for this role is from 07:00 to 19:00, Monday through Friday. In this position, you will serve as the first point of contact for security needs, ensuring excellent customer service while overseeing all security operations.
