Position Overview:
AMT Electronics Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Hardware Technician to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. The role involves providing expert technical support for electronic devices, including repairs, installations, and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of hardware systems, networking, and IT support, ensuring that clients receive top-notch service.
Key Responsibilities:
Hardware Maintenance and Repair:
Diagnose and repair electronic devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and servers.
Replace or upgrade hardware components such as hard drives, memory, processors, and power supplies.
IT and Network Support:
Provide remote and on-site technical support for network setups and troubleshooting.
Assist with small office network installations and support, including configuration of routers, firewalls, and other network devices.
Data Recovery and Security:
Perform secure data recovery services for clients.
Implement virus removal and firewall installations to protect client data and systems.
Software and Hardware Installations:
Install and configure new software and hardware in office environments.
Ensure compatibility and functionality of systems post-installation.
Training and User Support:
Offer training sessions for clients on the use of new hardware and software.
Provide clear and concise instructions to non-technical users.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services provided.
Prepare technical reports and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Bachelor of Computer and Network Security or equivalent qualification in a related field.
At least 3 years of professional experience as a hardware technician or in a similar role.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for a variety of electronic devices.
In-depth understanding of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
Proficiency in setting up and managing small office networks.
Knowledge of data recovery techniques and cybersecurity practices.
Excellent communication skills to assist and train clients effectively.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
