What are the Major Duties of this Position?

Functions as a Specialty Treatment Program Specialist within a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Federal Correctional Facility.

Provides group and individual counseling to inmates with the psychological problems targeted by the specialty program. Advanced Care Level Treatment Program: inmates suffering from serious mental illnesses which adversely impact their ability to function in a general population setting and/or their opportunity for successful reentry.

Provides program orientation lectures to inmates as a part of the institution’s Admissions and Orientation Program.

Types, duplicates and distributes letters, memos, agendas, forms, certificates, meeting minutes, and reports for the Chief Psychologist.

Maintains tracking logs for Special Housing Unit monthly monitoring, clinical contacts as determined by Mental Health Care Level assignments and treatment plan requirements, monthly psychotropic compliance, suicide watch monitoring and follow-up, request for services, and incoming inmates (for Admissions and Orientation (A&O) purposes).

Purchase card holder for the department; verifies obligated expenditures do not exceed yearly budget allotments; prepares purchase orders, requisitions, and maintains accounting of department expenditures and adjustments.

• Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives and procedures; conferring with senior leadership, staff members and others within the organization as necessary.
• Review financial statements and reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.

Salary Range: $106,000 to 133,000

SUMMARY

The Technical Task Leader oversees functions of the department, leads requirements gathering sessions, reviews, and evaluates business systems, and provides feedback to requesting users’ needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides day-to-day direction on project and task areas for Instructor facilitated (IFIT) and self-directed (SDIT) levels 1-3 courseware development projects from inception through completion.

Provides technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of a specific project or task area.  Responsible for enforcing the standards and processes within the team.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. 

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers.  Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources.  Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
