JOB SUMMARY:
In collaboration with faculty and staff of Adult Education develops and implements departmental plans to accomplish annual college goals. Develops, implements, and evaluates procedures and processes to increase enrollment, retention, and completion of students. Advises students in career and program planning and assist in their personal education plans. Oversees the maintenance of appropriate student and program records.
Constructs and analyzes performance reports and project evaluations, and determines and implements corrective action as required. Develops, implements, and evaluates procedures and processes within the division. Works closely with college staff and the community for recruitment, marketing of programs, and public relations;
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes and markets integrated educational training programs. Assists Adult Education with marketing and promotion of existing career training programs. Participates as a member of the Adult Education Team 20%
- Assists with recruitment, advisement and registration in Adult Education programs. 10%
- Provide oversight of recruitment, registration, monitoring, and tracking students of selected IET Programs. Implement new IET programs matched to local industry needs 10%
- Creates and participates in recruitment enrollment activities as assigned, representing IRSC in the community. 10%
- Assists in the resolution of student issues in Adult Education programs.10%
- Monitors, report, and track Adult Education grants and programs. 10%
- Respond to requests for information from the public, partners, or other offices. Creates and maintains Adult Education program information for general distribution.10%
- Works with community organizations to establish IET programs. 5%
- Assists with workshops for industry and community organizations. 5%
- Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.10%
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proven work experience in Adult Education ESL, GED, and IET Programs;
- Ability to work with a diverse student population.
- Proven knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office computer applications are a requirement for this position for the purpose of creating promotional material, maintaining records, designing presentations, and constructing reports.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Proven organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to be creative and innovative in supporting the Adult Education program’s effort to accomplish program production and performance goals.
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels, both internal and external to the institution in a professional and personable manner.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
- Experience with the Workday system is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light work involving lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls. To be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of these activities. If someone can do light work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary work, unless there are additional limiting factors such as loss of fine dexterity or inability to sit for long periods of time.

Travel is required between campuses as assigned. Primary locations are Dixon Hendry (Okeechobee), Pruitt (Port St. Lucie), and Blackburn (Ft. Pierce).
