DUTIES:

This position is located at the Fort Yuma Service Unit, Winterhaven, California. The primary purpose of the position is to develop, implement and maintain a Compliance and Integrity program to prevent and detect violations and other misconduct, and to promote ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with the law. The position provides support to health care management officials and/or coordinating health care operations. The incumbent reports to Deputy Quality Management Director.

• Coordinates and monitors activities of the Fort Yuma Service Unit's global healthcare compliance and integrity program. Provides guidance on incorporating compliance-related activities into the operations of the Service Unit.
• Assists with reviewing, updating, and formulating Service Unit policies and procedures regarding compliance-relate activities to ensure consistency among the various divisions. • Primary responsibilities of the incumbent include: maintain certification as a telehealth preceptor in order to deliver advanced telehealth training and evaluation of the competencies of clinical and/or less experienced telehealth staff members, supports clinical telehealth encounters for both the patient and the provider locations by serving as the tele-presenter within scope of practice, functioning as an imager and data manager for telehealth store and forward applications, managing real time clinical telehealth events, providing established patient education and providing technical and administrative support of telehealth operations.

The Chief of Operations Officer (COO) is located in the Operations Division, Fort Yuma Service Unit, Winterhaven CA. This position is tasked with providing leadership and management to ensure that the health center has effective people, operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. Provider is an Internal Medicine or Family Medicine trained physician. This physician will provide clinical services at the VACCHCS and provide leadership for their PACT. Provider is expected to document into CPRS in a timely manner, participate in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and participate in usual Medical Staff activity including committee participation. Administrative duties are related to clinical activities pertaining to managing a panel of patients' health care, including preventative, ambulatory acute, and chronic disease management. Provider is expected to maintain Joint Commission readiness. Our Primary Care Physician (PCP) functions as a team provider in shared workflow with a multidisciplinary Patient-Aligned Care Team (PACT - a medical home model), assigned to provide comprehensive, collaborative same day and continuity care to an assigned panel of Veterans as well as to patients outside of the assigned panel when Veteran care indicates a need for such. Medical care is delivered in accordance with current clinical practice guidelines with attention to prevention via utilization of evidence-based clinical decision-making tools.
