The Employee Occupational Health Mid Level provider will ensure provision of appropriate clinical services to employees who are patients of the EOH Clinic. Responsible for the clinical management of Employee Occupational Health Program; establishes goals for achievement of quality care standards, productivity targets, and efficiency improvement. Assures the policies, practices, and services of the_ service are consistent with the mission and vision of the VHA and Medical Center. Implements, tracks and rep01is to facility management in regard to facility compliance with internal and external regulatory and accreditation standards ( e.g., VHA Directives and guidelines, JC, OSHA, federal and local public health initiatives).
The Employee Occupational Health Mid Level provider will: - Serve as the Employee Occupational Health Service Licensed Independent Practitioner, seeing patients for administrative exams, mandatory exams, medical surveillance, on the job injuries/illnesses, exposures or other work related health care needs.
- Consider physical exam findings, laboratory and clinical test results, and position-specific functional requirements and work environment descriptions to determine medical clearance for pre-placement and mandatory exams.
- Ensure appropriate review of laboratory and test results ordered for patients of Employee Occupational Health, as well-as timely issuance of results letters and patient counseling on exam findings and test results.
- Ensure Employee Occupational Health Service practices are consistent with VHA Directives, guidelines and medical center numbered memorandums.
- Provide clinical direction of Employee Occupational Health programs.
- Provide clinical oversight of all nursing and support staff within Employee Health Service.
- Oversee clinical and administrative activities of Employee Occupational Health Service programs (Employee Occupational Health Clinic, Employee Wellness Program, Mandatory Exam and Medical Surveillance Program, and the MGV AMC Ergonomics Program).
- Collaborate with other medical center departments and services on issues related to employee safety.
- Track and report issues related to employee exposures including blood borne pathogens, on the job illnesses and injuries, health care worker immunization status, Tb screening and medical surveillance, and other employee health and safety issues as directed by facility policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Track and report facility compliance with guidelines and directives of VHA and regulatory agencies.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
