Team Leader. MTs at this level have professional oversight responsibilities of a laboratory team. .The team leader facilitates team or unit processes by working in collaboration with team members to ensure that tasks, priorities and goals are coordinated with laboratory management. The incumbent also provides technical advice to staff and other health care members and oversees work assignments and work flow. The team leader is responsible for ensuring that staff follow all policies and procedures and is a subject matter authority when there are questions of a technical or professional nature. The incumbent may be responsible for reporting personnel absences and may be responsible for staff schedules and other assignments delegated by the departmental supervisors.

Major Duties and Responsibilities to include but not be limited to:

• The physiatrist should have or work towards developing knowledge and skills related to a recovery-oriented practice in chronic pain care based on biopsychosocial whole person approach.
• The physiatrist utilizes non-surgical treatment methods such as non-narcotic pain medications, controlled substances, non-pharmacological modalities and utilize whole health services. Experience with office-based injections such as joint injections, or ultrasound/EMG guided injections are preferred. The physiatrist will not be expected to perform advanced procedural interventions like epidural spinal injections, facet blocks, and spinal cord stimulator device implantations.
• As a staff physiatrist the physiatrist provides support to Section of Pain Medicine and other PM&RS clinics including PMRS physician consults, amputee clinic, brace clinic, Pain and Polytrauma programs. Responsibilities include providing patient care in the PMRS setting which includes the clinical outpatient area, and subacute, and the inpatient setting as needed.
• Responsible for providing the patient with risks, benefits and alternative treatments and securing the informed consent of the patient/family needed before conducting invasive procedures.
• Physiatrist evaluates the patient to assess any changes in the physical status and make recommendations for continue care as needed.
• Physiatrists are expected to be BLS certified.

This position is assigned to the Behavioral Medicine & PC-MHI Program and is responsible for providing direct clinical services (including telemental health) in an individual and group setting, providing co-located clinical services, and providing supervision and training.

Staff psychologists at this level diagnose mental disorders, conduct psychological or neuropsychological assessments, treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities, provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders, and may conduct research.

The following specific clinical duties will be provided by the BMED/PCMHI psychologist:

• Provide brief therapy to Veterans with mild to moderate symptoms as an element of the PACT treatment plan, including PCPs in treatment decisions and updates
• Provide same-day behavioral health functional assessments, including same-day brief interventions for presenting problems in PACT and subspecialty medical clinics
• Conduct pre-surgical psychological assessments for Veterans anticipating transplant, bariatric, elective amputation, and other medical procedures, as needed
• Provide screening, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of depressive and anxiety-related disorders, as well as other mental health symptoms, with an emphasis on the application of time-limited, evidence-based treatment approaches.

• Verify medical record completeness, accuracy and proper entry into computer systems.
• Identify all diagnoses and procedures associated with inpatient admission by utilizing the entire inpatient medical record, including findings on pathology, laboratory, radiology, ancillary studies and other documentation within the medical records.
• Ensure each medical record contains appropriate documentation to support the principal diagnosis, principal procedures, qualifying complications and co-morbid conditions used for the DRG assignment.
