Cardiology Physician Job Duties: The Cardiologist will participate in and/or manage all aspects of a general Cardiology program, to include clinical, administrative, academic, and research components if warranted.
- The cardiologist will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with cardiac diseases according to standard, usual, and acceptable methods and techniques.
- Will provide services such as outpatient examinations, consultation services related to cardiology, management of patients with current treatment regiment, and admission status as necessary.
- Participate in providing care in the tele-cardiology program at the facility
- Providing clinical consultation to Harry S Truman VAMC clinical staff. Patient caseload may be inpatient, outpatient, or both.
- May work with primary care physicians on a consulting basis when a patient has symptoms that suggest a cardiac issue.
- Interviews, examines, selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collates results to coordinate patient care.
- Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews
- Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff
