The Role

The key function of this role is the management of projects for the convenience food retail business from inception to completion.

Key accountabilities will include:

· The roll out of specific in store initiatives including Food to Go/bakery

· The management of replacement refrigeration installations to food stores

· The management of refits

· The fit out of new stores

· The coordination of the construction of new stores

· The value of projects will range from £5,000 to £2,000,000

The role will require involvement in the planning of projects up to a year in advance for capital expenditure and programming purposes, which will involve assessing the feasibility of projects, undertaking surveys and inspections, preparing budget costs, coordinating with consultants and in-house teams, obtaining statutory consents, and providing presentations to the wider development team.

In essence the successful candidate will have a lead role in the planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and completion of projects.

Our Ideal Candidate

To succeed in this role, you will have:

· A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in project management ideally in the food retail sector, but experience in other sectors would be considered.

· An appropriate knowledge of health and safety legislation, a Health and Safety qualification would be desirable.

· A demonstrable track record of managing projects in live environment.

The role requires an ability to run projects from inception to completion and so the following skills are essential:

· Good communication skills both written and verbal.

· Team leadership skills

· Motivational, negotiation and dispute resolution skills.

Our ideal candidate will be looking for the next step in their career and will be looking to develop as a Project Manager in a client-side role.

A professional qualification (MRICS/MAPM) would be desirable, but this is not essential.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Daily working hours will generally be 8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, but some flexibility will be required from time to time to meet the needs and requirements of the role. This role will be office based, with a degree of hybrid working available.

Working as the Front of House Hotel Receptionist you will take all reservation enquiries by telephone, fax, email and in person in the absence of a Reservations Agent adhering to Company sales policies.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Front of House Hotel Receptionist include:

• File and keep all guest registration records secure and confidential

• Update guest records in the PMS system

• Update room statuses on the system

• Ensure all faxes, messages and correspondence are passed to guests or the relevant department

• Check and send End-of-Day reports to Head Office daily

• Report any problems with the End-of-Day reports to the Shift-leader, Assistant Reception Manager or Reception Manager

• To be fully conversant with all telephone and switchboard equipment

• Keep record and be familiar with all extension numbers in the Hotel

• Answer all internal and external telephone calls received at reception within three rings

• Cover the Switchboard when the Switchboard operator is not present

• Welcome guests upon arrival, help them to register, assign rooms and direct them to the room while informing them of all in-room and Hotel facilities

• Attend to all guests and potential clients at the Front Desk in a courteous and efficient manner

• Answer customer enquiries politely and efficiently

• Notify the Duty Manager/Front of House Manager/ Guest Relations Manager of the arrival of all VIPs

• Ensure all room moves are dealt with and recorded efficiently

• Be aware of guests’ special requirements and communicate them to relevant departments

• Identify return and regular clients and make sure their special requirements are met

• Obtain sufficient security before checking in a guest, i.e. card pre-authorisation, cash deposit, clear bill back instruction in writing

• Ensure all bills and room charges are posted correctly

• Ensure correct amount of payment is charged to the guest

• Ensure corrections/adjustments are done correctly and authorised by the Reception Manager/Front of House Manager

• Send all bills of departed guests to Head Office

• Make sure ledger bills are printed with the correct details, including guest title, name, company name, company address, reference number, purchase order number, itemised charges and VAT breakdown, and any other details specified in the correspondence

• Prepare Banking at the end of each shift and ensure all money banked is kept safe and secure for collection

• Perform credit check for all in-house guests at least once per shift and inform the Reception Manager/Front of House manager of any issues

• To take all reservation enquiries by telephone, fax, email and in person in the absence of a Reservations Agent

• Promote and upsell the Hotel facilities aiming to maximise occupancy and revenue

• Be fully conversant with the rate structure and current promotions

• Enter correctly all reservation details into the system

• To be fully conversant with hotel and in-room facilities as well as local attractions, transport routs etc. in order to be able to answer any related customer enquiries

• Accept changes or additions in work hours, which are necessary for the maintenance of uninterrupted service to hotel guests

• To observe and implement procedures of dealing with emergency situations, fire prevention and Health and Safety

Job brief

We are looking for a Kitchen Manager to supervise daily back of house restaurant operations.

Kitchen Manager responsibilities include supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage our kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time.

Ultimately, you will ensure all plates are properly cooked and served and our customers have a pleasant dining experience.

Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
Supervise food prep and cooking
Check food plating and temperature
Establish portion sizes
Schedule kitchen staff shifts
Price menu items in collaboration with the Restaurant Manager
Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed

Facilities Manager

Hours: 37.5 per week (Mon-Fri 08:30 – 17:00)

Location: Field based with regular attendance at our Head Office in Newbridge, Edinburgh a requirement

We’re a co-operative, which means that we are run by our members for the benefit of the local communities that we serve.

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager preferably with a surveying, building or trade background who will be responsible for the Society’s entire property portfolio of around 350 sites, including Scotmid and Semichem Stores, Funeral branches, and our Semichem warehouse facility. As Facilities Manager you will manage and respond to maintenance works, PPM’s, reactive call outs and planned project work.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual who can thrive under pressure, work at pace, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail on all projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong relationship-building skills, have stakeholder management experience, along with a proven track record in delivering solutions clearly and succinctly.

We are interested in hearing from candidates who previously worked in a surveying, building related or trade background who is looking to move their career into Facilities Management.

The role

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

· Conducting site audits and planning for future works

· Undertaking planned maintenance activities and managing the performance and delivery of contracts

· Using Contractors to assess, repair, and replace assets

· Responding to emergency situations with clarity and controlled information flow

· Maintaining maintenance contracts within agreed budgets

· Undertaking procurement activities

· Contributing proactively to Opex and Capex budget preparation

· Project managing facilities management related capital projects

· Collaborating with stakeholders to drive delivery and meet expectations

Key Qualities:

· Flexibility and adaptability

· Strong business focus for delivery

· Resilience and ability to handle challenging scenarios

· Extensive FM experience across multifunctional sites

· Building-related qualification or equivalent (advantageous)

Hours of Work

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Daily working hours will generally be 8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, but some flexibility will be required from time to time to meet the needs and requirements of the role. This is a field-based role with the requirement to attend our offices in Newbridge, Edinburgh on a regular basis.

Salary and Benefits
