Head Chef
Location: Liverpool
Salary: Up to £35,000 (depending on experience) & range of excellent employee benefits
Onsite – Monday-Friday w/one weekend day a month (at overtime rate) – Early Shifts
Sodexo has a great opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to join our established team working with our clients based in Liverpool.
Joining our small team at their large pharmaceutical site in Speke, you will produce all catering services including hospitality at the required times to the company’s standards, within the agreed specification and to the agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets. You will also take responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Soft Services Manager and the responsible person for issuing mandatory training to your team.
The Head Chef will motivate and lead catering employees to perform their roles to a high standard and in alignment to Sodexo policies & procedures to ensure the prompt provision and efficient service of all meals and catering requirements at the specified time to the standards laid down in the KPI's.
You will ensure that methods of preparation, production and presentation comply with Sodexo’s standards and procedures by recruiting, managing, inducting, training, motivating and appraising staff to promote good employee relations and operate within Company procedures, legislation and the Investors in People standards. off job training.

About You
Experience and knowledge requirement for this role:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the industry
• Ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
• Good knowledge of Allergen management, menu planning & stock control to meet targets
• Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs as appropriate
• Great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff
• Work well under pressure & effectively as part of a team
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Flexible approach to role
• Sense of own initiative
• Self-motivated
Qualifications required:
• City & guilds or NVQ equivalent based training (Preferred)
• Level 2 Hygiene Certificate (Onsite training can be given)
• IOSH Health & Safety or equivalent
• COSHH Certificate (Preferred)
