The Dementia Nurse/ Advisor will provide support and clinical knowledge to ward staff in relation to Dementia care management. Act as a resource to Trust staff and other professionals who deliver care to the patient. Ensure standards are in line with the NICE guidelines, National, regional and Trust Dementia Strategy.

The Dementia Nurse/ Advisor will support the completion of the Dementia screening and ensure that the Multidisciplinary teams understand the rationale for the screening in the Trust in line with the indicators highlighted in the previous National CQUIN. Support and complete holistic person-centred nursing assessments on patients within North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. Support the complex needs of carers through ongoing assessment of health and wellbeing working closely with the Trust Carers advisor, other partner organisations such as Age UK, Caring Together, Alzheimer’s Society and the Admiral Nurse service. Provide training education/support to the Dementia Specialist Nurse and facilitate appropriate education/training on Dementia aspects of care. We are a dynamic community mental health service for older people and would like you to join us. We are looking to recruit a Practitioner Psychologist or CBT Therapist in Peterborough. We are a group of Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologist, Occupational Therapists and an Occupational Therapy Assistant and work with a full MDT. The Stepped Care Therapy Team links in with the integrated physical and mental health Neighbourhood Teams, the Memory Assessment Service, and Social Care Team. The breadth of work is ideal for a newly qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, or an experienced CBT therapist.

As a Clinical Psychologist/CBT Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in our Community Mental Health Team, focusing on older people's mental health needs. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing individual therapy, and developing and implementing personalised treatment plans. Your expertise will guide our team in promoting positive mental health outcomes for older adults and their families.

The candidate’s role would include the provision of assessment, formulation and evidence-based intervention including, where appropriate, specialist neuropsychological assessment. There is an expectation that the post holder would provide advice and consultation for non-psychology colleagues. The successful candidate will work closely with Cellular Pathology management team and the Consultant Pathologists to deliver a quality-driven, safe, cost effective, timely, responsive and customer focused Cellular Pathology service.

This fixed term Senior Biomedical Scientist post offers an exciting opportunity for BMS’s to further develop their specialist knowledge and skills in Diagnostic Cytology and Histopathology as we are an IBMS registered training facility committed to education, training and clinical excellence.

You will be required to attend Rapid on -site assessment clinics across the Trust hospitals and will need to have experience in cytology preparation and sample assessment.

You will also be responsible for supervising the Cellular Pathology area and assist in the development of staff within a progressive department where participation in developing our service is actively encouraged.

You should be HCPC registered with an appropriate MSc, IBMS HSD and/or be FIBMS and well versed in the workings of a Cellular Pathology laboratory and in particular be able to demonstrate experience in Diagnostic Cytology both sample preparation and assessment.

You will also need to be enthusiastic, communicate well with all levels of staff and patients. Be highly motivated, computer literate and familiar with working to UKAS standards.

The post is a 23 month fixed term contract to provide support to attend additional Rapid on-site assessment clinics primarily for ENT clinics.

The Breast Unit at Peterborough City Hospital is a new dedicated Unit which has digital imaging equipment and provides Breast Screening and Breast Symptomatic Services to women who are referred into the service and those who are eligible for routine Breast Screening. Both services are managed by a Unit Manager who is responsible for the integration and alignment of the two services.

The Deputy Breast Screening Office Manager will work closely with the Office Manager and the Breast Unit Manager to plan, manage and report on the national breast screening programme.

Patient/Client care

· Provide non clinical advice/information to patients, carers and visitors either over the telephone or face to face during incidental contact or at radiology reception.



Management and Training



· Be responsible for the overall management of the administration/reception staff of the Breast Screening Service.

· Document, review and update as necessary the administrative procedures for the office practices as part of the Quality Management System required by the NHSBSP

· Supervise, mentor and assist in the training of new clerical staff on a one to one basis.

· Be responsible for the ordering and maintenance of adequate stocks of stationary and office supplies



Health and Safety



· Ensure that all office equipment is in safe working order and arrange for repair or replacement where necessary according to departmental practice, reporting loss or defect to the appropriate authority.

· Maintain electronic records of movement of x-ray film/images to other Breast Screening Units, departments, wards, trusts etc.

Financial Business Management



· Responsible for stock ordering and usage prudently to reduce wastage.

· Responsible for safe use of expensive equipment e.g. Photocopier and I.T. equipment.



Strategy/Policy/Service Development



· Work with other staff within own department and around the trust to improve working practises by contributing to the development and update of the Quality Management System.

· Attend and contribute to department staff meetings.

· Contribute to discussions on service/policy development and provide comments leading to improved Breast Screening Service delivery.

Working Conditions



· Manually locate and retrieve x-ray film packets and records as required

· Uses computer (VDU) for most of the working day. This frequently involves standing or sitting in a confined/restricted area.

· Occasional exposure to verbal aggression whilst dealing with prospective difficult clients

· Occasional indirect exposure to distressing/emotional circumstances when inputting distressing patient information onto NBSS and CRIS.
