The post holder is expected to troubleshoot patient care or technical issues in all pre-treatment areas. Work as a subject matter expert on all aspects of pre-treatment radiotherapy. The candidate will supervise, instruct and take part in pre-treatment imaging for radiotherapy planning and virtual simulation planning of patients for radiotherapy and make decisions pertaining to patient care and treatment. Supervise, instruct and take part in production of required immobilisation of patients for radiotherapy. They will do the same for cannulation of patients and administration of radiographic contrast. Identify normal anatomy and pathological appearances, to make analytical judgement on imaging and treatment actions.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in the radiotherapy pre- treatment department. The role involves rotating through CT scanners, vsim planning and cannulation departments. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the pre- treatment team in a designated area together with other permanent pre treatment band 6 staff. Reporting to the superintendents on a daily basis with expectation to organise a busy workload with the highest level of patient care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To ensure that the highly complex pre-treatment radiotherapy imaging equipment is safe and accurate to operate, both for staff and patient, undertaking the appropriate machine checks and reporting any variances, faults and malfunctions.
• Using highly complex equipment such as CT simulators and MR scanners, including the administration of contrast, to provide accurate radiotherapy planning scans, in order to plan radiotherapy treatment for a diverse range of patients
• Providing accurate written instructions of treatment set-up to ensure accurate treatment reproducibility ensuring that radiotherapy may be delivered accurately and reproducibly and in accordance with the quality system.
• Using highly complex equipment and software for virtual simulation of radiotherapy treatments in order to produce accurate treatment plans in accordance with the quality system.
• Electronic dispatch of pre-treatment images to relevant sections of the radiotherapy and treatment planning departments
• Cannulation of patients for IV contrast and competence for relevant PGD for contrast media and emergency drugs for the management of side effects in accordance with trust policies
• Monitor and assess patient’s condition and liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care, referral, information and support is offered to all patients. Administer appropriate drug prescriptions as prescribed by clinicians.
• Produce highly complex immobilisation devices for use in radiotherapy treatment to ensure accurate treatment and reproducibility so that radiotherapy may be delivered accurately and reproducibly and in accordance with the quality system
• Ensure the team follows appropriate systems and working methods to achieve the safe, timely achievement of workload targets.
• Ensure the team keeps accurate records and comply with necessary policies and procedures
• Analyse systematically and evaluate all data and information relevant to patients’ diagnosis, ensuring the patient and their relatives are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
• Communicate confidential sensitive information, and provide emotional support, to patients and their carers/relatives including children and the terminally ill.
• Provide information to patients and their carers with regard to the radiotherapy pathway and expected side effects.
• To communicate accurate and timely information with all other disciplines involved along the patients pathway.
• With the team in the assigned area, patients and the wider multidisciplinary team manage areas of conflict and escalate as necessary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· To aseptically prepare high quality Cytotoxic/MABS/EAMS etc. in accordance with departmental procedures, Good Manufacturing Practice and COSHH regulations ensuring that all work complies with all regulatory frameworks and standards.

· Undertake daily cleaning and disinfection of the aseptic clean rooms including Isolators, according to Standard Operating Procedures.

· To be responsible for the maintenance of all stock in the Aseptic Unit including evaluating stock levels within the Aseptic Unit assisting the ordering Technician to ensure adequate stock is maintained at all times.

· Ensure all Environmental monitoring plates are received and stored in the correct manner to ensure they are protected from contamination.

· Prepare environmental samples and documentation for dispatch to QCNW.

· To be responsible for receiving and documenting Environmental Reports from QCNW and referring any variances to senior staff in a timely manner.

Education and Development:

· Undertake any mandatory training, updates and courses in line with local and Trust policies.

· To complete NVQ2 in pharmacy services if not currently in possession of this qualification

· To complete all Aseptic Services Unit competency-based training packages.

· To participate in and co-operate with, individual personal assessment, continuing professional development and continuing education programmes to develop personal competencies and knowledge base.

· When appropriate to demonstrate activities to, work experience students, pre-registration pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, student pharmacy technicians and staff undergoing induction.

Communication and Leadership
• Communicate with other team members regarding activities within the Aseptic Services Unit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To ensure that the highly complex radiotherapy and imaging equipment is safe and accurate to operate, both for staff and patients; undertaking the appropriate machine checks and reporting any variances, faults and malfunctions
• Undertake and evaluate radiation dose delivery and complex calculations involving a range of radiation types and energies
• Interpret, monitor and evaluate the treatment prescriptions to ensure that radiotherapy is delivered accurately and reproducibly and in accordance with the quality system

The post will predominantly focus on Electrophysiology. The post holder will be expected to contribute fully to the Electrophysiology service, which is delivered on all sites across MFT; this post will be based across Wythenshawe Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary. The Manchester Royal Infirmary and Wythenshawe site catheter laboratories presently perform over 1250 Electrophysiology procedures per year on aggregate, with an increasing burden of acute and complex work. The post holder will provide extensive support to the catheter lab Electrophysiology programme, and will be expected to work within the team who deliver a wide-ranging suite of procedures, such as AF ablation and ablation for SVT and VT.

A strong commitment to Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching and a Research interest is desirable. Recruitment to clinical trials occurs through the local research network, and the Trust research and innovation programme is led by Prof Chris Miller. Additionally there are active links with bioengineering, translational and basic science cardiovascular biology programmes in Manchester.

This post is suitable for individuals with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in anaesthesia and wishing to gain further experience and skills in this specialty. This role is also suited to colleagues who have completed stage 1 training in anaesthesia and are wishing to gain stage 2 competencies ahead of joining/re-joining a formal training programme, or for colleagues who are working towards a CESR application.

The appointee will be assigned a consultant mentor and will spend time training in an established Anaesthesia department with a strong track record in clinical governance, education, and research with exposure to a wide range of pathology and specialist patient groups. The department serves a large general hospital with approximately 300 beds and supports a busy emergency and elective programme. There are numerous services on site offering varied clinical experience to the successful applicant. These include Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Paediatrics, Urology, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, General Medicine, ENT, Respiratory Medicine, Critical Care, and the region’s tertiary Infectious Diseases unit. The successful candidate will join a consultant-led medical workforce and doctors in training of all grades. There are two tiers of trainee on-call covering theatres and obstetrics.



Under the supervision of the Consultant Anaesthetists, the appointee will assist in practical procedures, assessment, investigation, treatment, and day-to-day management of patients. Senior Clinical Fellows will be expected to work at a minimum level of CT3 or equivalent, with increased responsibility for assessment and management of unwell patients in the hospital, and, where appropriate, supervision of more junior trainees. They will be supported in this by the Consultant workforce.

Some administrative work will be part of the standard workload. In addition, active participation in audit is expected.

The applicant will also be part of an on-call anaesthetic rota on a full shift basis on a EWTD compliant rota. Consultant supervision will be provided at all times, and consultants are resident within the hospital for a minimum of 10 hours per day.

We are seeking to expand our Paediatric Anaesthetic team and are recruiting a dynamic, innovative, highly motivated and enthusiastic registered senior practitioner that islooking to expand their existing skills and knowledge not only in paediatrics but also within a diverse and challenging range of specialties.

RMCH Theatres have 10 theatres and 1 recovery unit and cover a wide range of surgical specialties such as Burns and Plastics, Neurosurgery, Major Spinal Surgery and Trauma & Orthopedics. As a dedicated paediatric major trauma Centre and regional neonatal surgical centre we provide a 24/7 emergency service and staff are required to participate in this cover.

We work closely with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust to bring the UK's first high energy proton beam therapy service to Manchester, this is one of only two high energy NHS proton beam therapy centres and RMCH theatres provide the anaesthetic and recovery service, therefore staff will rotate to cover this service.

We work together with a range of professionals including nurses, ODPs and allied health professionals as well as anaesthetists and other medical staff to provide service users and their families / carers with timely procedures which are safe, achieve good clinical outcomes and provide a good patient experience.
