The Role
As a Strategic Finance Business Partner at Apeiron Bioenergy, you will prepare detailed quarterly and annual financial forecasts, utilizing advanced Excel functions, and conducting comprehensive variance analysis. Role Summary
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Prepare quarterly and annual forecasts to facilitate effective financial planning and decision-making.
- Create and manage financial models using advanced Excel functionalities to support various business initiatives, forecast financial outcomes, conduct variance analysis, and address ad-hoc requests.
- Prepare monthly business reviews and reports, perform detailed variance analysis, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify root causes for discrepancies, and proactively mitigate financial risks.
Financial Reporting and Communication
- Oversee financial activities for a portfolio of 10 countries within the APAC region, including the Greater China region.
- Collaborate with senior leadership from the six APAC countries, providing monthly updates on operational expenditure (OpEx) and offering actionable recommendations to enhance OpEx efficiency and forecast accuracy.
- Analyze and communicate the expected impacts on the Profit and Loss (PnL) statement related to proposed investment initiatives.
Process Optimization and Automation
- Create Excel templates and leverage Microsoft Power BI tools to streamline and automate various ad hoc tasks.
- Conduct an in-depth analysis of capital expenditure investments and their impact on the organization's financial performance.
Market Analysis and Strategic Insights
- Identify potential risks and opportunities for the growth and development of APAC markets, providing valuable insights to drive strategic decision-making.
- Monitor monthly financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to enhance value creation and achieve performance targets.
- Perform resource allocation, ensuring that resources are allocated to various business units in a way that aligns with the organization's strategy and priorities.
- Support the business units in setting strategy and decision-making, providing insights and options to help them manage changes and achieve their targets.
The Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field with a preference for CA/CFA qualifications.
- 3 – 8 years of relevant experience in Finance Business Partnering or FP&A.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and financial modelling tools.
- Strong domain knowledge in Trade Finance, biofuel, or trading environments.
- Effective bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English to communicate with Chinese counterparties and stakeholders.
