P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients who are currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full-time permanent contract.

Main Duties:
• To carry out new installations.
• To maintain and repair current installations.
• Maintain electrical operation of amusement rides, equipment and systems to meet requirements, applying knowledge of electrical principles within fields.
• Investigate equipment failures & difficulties and to diagnose faulty operation, and to repair accordingly.
• Operations at times will include working at height using correct PPE and procedures.
• To carry out ride assembly and dismantling at required times.
• To carry out ride maintenance.
• To clean and repair any electrical equipment or facility requiring attention.
• To carry out daily ride inspections.
• Continually monitor, appraise and test and certify Ride Operators in correct ride operation.
• To assist in ride operation, if and when necessary.
• To maintain all equipment and tools in good condition and use under H & S regulations.
• To work in a safe manner regarding self, work colleagues and members of the public.
• To ensure working area is kept clear of excess materials and tools etc.
• To carry out electrical work at other venues operated by the company.
• To carry out any other duties commensurate with this post. Flexibility must be evident with regard to different types of work and duties that may be required.

Person Specification:
• To have ability to read and use electrical drawings.
• To be trained in 18th. Edition BS 7671 standard (desirable).
• To have strong diagnostic skills.
• To have experience of electrical testing (PAT).
• To have knowledge of AC/DC drives and their associated motors or pumps and PLC fault-finding.
• To have experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.

Working Hours:
• During peak period, weekend work will be included with 2 days off in the week.
• In the winter months, Monday – Friday.

Ellipsis products include but are not limited to emulsions (creams, gels, etc), oil blends (including fragranced products), washes, cleansers, serums, in both hot and cold-filled products. The apprentice must feel confident and happy to operate machinery such as heating plates, pH meters, viscometers, high-shear mixers, and overhead stirrers. There will be sufficient training if the apprentice is not familiar with the equipment listed.

The apprentice is expected to work closely with the Development team assuring all the necessary quality checks and lab duties are performed on time and as planned. This apprenticeship represents a significant opportunity for someone who wishes to start a career in the sciences, or particularly the cosmetic industry.

What you’ll be doing:

Administration
- Booking in new raw materials and ensuring these are risk assessed before use
- Collation, filing and reporting of test results (stability/challenge/compatibility/user trials)
- Collate and publish internal product paperwork to aid PIF (product information file) preparation
- Manage and maintain paperwork ensuring all files are up to date

Laboratory
- Small-scale bulk manufacture; up to 5kg manufacturing of cosmetic formulations for testing purposes
- Maintaining stock levels of raw materials and consumables
- Helping to ensure the lab is a clean, orderly, and purposeful environment
- Quality control of raw materials and the associated paperwork (checking viscosity, smell, pH, appearance, etc)
- Stability assessment and paperwork

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• NVQ or City Guilds qualified to level 3 or higher
• Must have worked in some form of manufacturing environment
• Have a flexible approach to working hours, cover extra hours & shutdowns as overtime
• Computer literate - able to use SAP systems
• Experience of working with hydraulics, pneumatics, VSD's, power transmission drive systems
• PLC - electrical fault finding skills
• Steam systems experience would be beneficial
• Must be very health & safety focussed
• Ideally qualified to HNC electrical engineering
