Job Description
Roles
In the oil and gas industry, NDT professionals play a crucial role in inspecting pipelines, storage tanks, and offshore platforms for defects or corrosion. By using advanced techniques like ultrasonic testing and radiography, they can identify potential weaknesses and prevent costly leaks or accidents, ensuring the integrity of the infrastructure.
We are looking for a talented NDT Engineer who has past records in minimizing the operation’s costs, whose skill in NDT testing can help the company reducing the costs of labor, materials, downtime and undetected repairs, also indirectly limiting costs associated with spills, such as reputational damage and fines.
Responsibilities
· Familiarization of ASME / API Codes & Standards, DNV Rules
· Proven experience of providing solutions on NDT inspection related problems
· Responsible for company NDT management and controls
· Responsible for trouble shot problems related to NDT
· Provide internal training technical guidance to QC Inspectors
· Develop/Review/approve NDT procedures, NDT techniques complying with project/code/regulatory requirements. Review NDT procedures prepared by NDT sub-contractor as per project specification prior to submitting for client approval
· Monitor the performance of NDT personnel through system of review of qualification, competency assessment, Cross checks and reports review
· Risk assessment of NDT works and lead the risk assessment process of NDT in the yard
· Prepare and conduct Project Specific Inductions/workshops/tool/box talk about NDT requirements
· Co-ordinate with NDT contractors to develop and update their individual competency matrix
· Maintain all NDT personnel qualification records and update from time to time.
· Keep a copy of all NDT contractors’ certificates
· Review NDT operator qualification and submit for project approval
· Establish calibration and validation blocks required to demonstrate Ultrasonic Testing
· Perform Audit on NDT contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements
· Witness & provide technical guidance on standard PAUT validations
· Provide technical support for inspection auditing activities and provide effective audit programming for companywide NDT activities
· Reviewing and commenting on standards, specifications, and enquiries
· Work as part of a team to ensure all regulatory, quality and customer requirements are met
· Verify NDT reports for project requirements compliance
· Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working
· Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc
· Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions
· Willingness to be flexible and multi-task as part of a team, and contribute to company objectives.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in fabrication environment as NDT Level III
· ASNT/PCN Level III qualification in UT/RT/MT/PT/ CSWIP (PAUT)
· Reports to Principal Welding and NDT Engineer
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Expected skill in method of NDT for oil and gas is radiographic testing, and Computed radiography (CR) and direct radiography (DR)
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel is a must.
· Possess good initiatives
· Organised, positive attitude and detail oriented.
· Team Player, resourceful with sense of responsibility.
Job Related Information
Permanent – 5.5 days’ work week | Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 8am-12pm
Head-Office Location: Office Location: Gul Circle, Singapore.

- OT pay entitlement: OT Flat rate S$8/- per hour
