About The Role
Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a Project Engineer to work on our Electricity Transmission Contract on projects across the UK.
As a Project Engineer you will be part of our OHL Delivery Teams who are responsible for managing individual projects; including sub-contracts, coordinating resources and technical support; with a brief to ensure on-time delivery within defined budgets, without compromise on safety or quality.
As the Project Engineer your responsibilities will include:

- Reporting to the Project/Site Manager (project dependent) on all day-to-day commercial and operational issues
- Responsible to Operations Manager on all commercial, operational, and technical delivery issues
- Ensure Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans and Quality Plans are in place for all operational sites and contribute to the development of policies and procedures as may be required
- Ensure all necessary documentation is in place, being complied with and regularly reviewed for all site-based activities e.g., method statements, work instructions, risk assessments, etc
- Support the Business Development and Bids teams with appropriate technical support at tender and proposal stages
- Ensure timely programming and change notifications are communicated to support other internal departments e.g., Plant & Transport, Procurement and Design
- Ensure technical support is provided to the Design department as and when required
- Contribute experience, knowledge and management support to the Supply Chain functions with respect to, but not restricted to, plant and equipment allocation and utilisation; procurement of PPE, plant and equipment; all transport and fleet issues relating to the Transmission Networks business.
- Principal contact for correspondence and meetings with third parties e.g., surveys, design, environmental consultants, utilities, services, etc.
- Work closely with the Head of Operations/Resource Managers to co-ordinate and allocate appropriate resource levels across projects to ensure efficient utilisation of the resource pool
- Close liaison with Site Manager/Project Manager to ensure compliance with and delivery of contractual obligations
- Work with the Planning and Commercial teams to monitor project progress and recommending changes as required
- Capture events impacting costs and programmes in order to timely update project status and forecasts
- Ensure contract changes/compensation events are captured, ensuring that impact evaluation on costs and schedules is undertaken with the Commercial team
- Using the implemented project control mechanism, improve the efficiency and enhance the profitability of projects, including debt management
- Contribute to the business requirements for budgeting and forecasting
- Produce Monthly Contract Review reports
- Produce Project Closeout Reports
- Attend MES and client contract review/progress meetings on a regular basis
- Ensure timely, accurate and compliant time bookings, out allowance and expenses are submitted for all employees within area of responsibility.

What do I need?

- Ideally a degree or MSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, be a Chartered Engineer or working towards this or relevant experience.

The Policy and Standards Team are part of the Asset Management and Operations Directorate and are the Design and Technical Engineering Governance function for the Transmission Business. Their purpose is to ensure that suitable engineering guidance and specifications are in place for all Transmission projects and relevant business areas and that the design of the network and the equipment used ensures we operate safely, reliably and in compliance with the relevant legislation.

As the Principal Engineer - Civils, you will;

- Write, maintain and own technical specifications required for civil works associated with substation, e.g. substation buildings, bunds, trenches, etc. and review existing specifications and update them based on lessons learnt from projects.

- Represent Transmission at industry body events such as ENA or CIGRE working groups and attend conferences, participate in supplier meetings, TO forums, etc. and lead on introduction of new technology for substation construction.

- As part of the Technical Authority review perform approval of civil aspects with regard to standardised substation construction.

- Provide technical guidance and advice to Project Engineering for scope of works, specification and supplier selection, to Asset Management regarding civil asset condition and to Operations regarding civil capability.

- Provide Subject Matter Expert input to design reviews carried out by the Design Authority to verify project proposals are fit for purpose.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.

Siemens Mobility in Glasgow are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer. Based out of the Glasgow Depot and reporting to the Service Delivery Engineer, the Technical Support Engineer will work with the Production, Technical and Performance teams supporting with the maintenance and reliability improvement of the fleet.

Principal Accountabilities

• Provide technical support for the maintenance team on site and at incidents off depot.
• With minimal supervision investigate rolling stock casualties undertake maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan.
• Regularly monitor train defects and failures in traffic and liaise with the customer.
• Mitigating the risk of in service failures through proactive intervention.
• Download and process train diagnostic data, undertake fault finding to an advanced level.
• Produce complex, analytical technical reports on fault investigation.
• Live closure of work reports within CMMS system.
• Act as Siemens representative on shift, providing technical support to the Operator's maintenance staff.
• Assist other team members, both Siemens and customer, with the development of technical skills by acting as a mentor.
• Specialise in areas of technical expertise.
• As required, attend off-depot meetings to support technical Investigations and resolution.
• Liaise with all Siemens departments, where required, to support the delivery of the contract.
• If required, deputise for line manager.
• Undertake stores and materials support during periods of downtime or absence.
• Record and report all information relevant to Operational Safety
• Incidents / Accidents, service defects and failures in a detailed and efficient manner.
• As required, respond to trends in unit defects and make recommendations on possible mitigations and counter measure.
• Undertake audits of customer's maintenance practices to ensure that maintenance is undertaken in accordance with the relevant standards.
• Undertake performance analysis duties during periods of downtime or absence (site specific).

Knowledge & Experience

• In depth knowledge of Rolling Stock systems / procedures including schematics, fault finding techniques and download analysis
• Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or higher) and experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment
• Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures
• Understands and cares for tools, equipment and PPE as appropriate
• Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
• Ability to fault-find using a number of different methods including diagnostic software
• Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications
• Ability to produce detailed analytical technical reports
• Good communication skills

Engineering Technician

Permanent contract: shift work, either (4 on 4 off days & nights) or panama shift

As a Multi Skilled Engineer / Engineering Technician your purpose is to provide high quality scheduled and unplanned/reactive maintenance across the blow moulding / Dairy site
- (dependant on which area you were placed). Your job will be to actively identify root cause and bring the equipment back in to service as quickly as possible as well as seeking and identifying cost effective improvements to site assets and equipment, improving efficiency and reliability.
Key responsibilities as Multi-Skilled Engineer / Engineering Technician:

- Ensure that you are conversant with all drawing Electrical, Pneumatic and Mechanical.
- Basic automation skills for fault finding and remediation, strong electrical skills HNC equivalent, sound mechanical skills for diagnosis and replacement
- Diligently complete all maintenance tasks, PM, CBM, CI and corrective. Contribute to FMEA activities when required.
- Identify & implement Improvements


What we’re looking for from a Multi Skilled Engineer / Engineering Technician:

- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship
- HNC Electrical preferred, Mechanical with additional electrical qualification or competence
- Automation – CI tools and techniques would be advantageous
- Experience within maintenance
- Manufacturing Industry Experience
- ONC/HNC
- IOSHH / Nebosh – Desirable

An experience Domestic Gas Engineer is required in Edinburgh by a leading name in the boiler market to work across their region, carrying out Domestic Heating & Boiler repairs and servicing. The position will see you working on central heating boilers and some associated gas appliances in domestic properties, both private and some housing association homes too. The role will see you at times fault finding, diagnosing and repairing boilers which some other previous engineers or other companies were not able to. In addition to servicing and repairing the Gas boilers and heating systems you will be delivering excellent customer service at all times representing the company’s image and brand in the market.

Experience & Skills Required
Has good experience installing, servicing and repairing boilers
Hold current Gas ACS Certificates – CCN1 & CEN1 / CENWAT1
Working as a gas engineer since qualifying and hold a valid gas safe register card
Previous boiler fault finding experience
Boiler fault diagnosis and repair
Solid and structured Boiler Servicing knowledge
General Boiler fault codes knowledge
Competent on Electrical safety checks and use of a Multi Meter
