• You will serve as a Project Manager on a wide variety of complicated projects involving complicated electrical engineering systems.
• You will determine the necessity for engineering projects to be included in the repair, alteration, and new construction programs.
• You will prepare project advertisements, set up Architectural-Engineering (A and E) selection and negotiation boards, and ensure proper A and E contracts are selected in accordance with governing regulations.
• You will conduct technical, functional, and economical reviews of project documents.
• You will design and prepare plans and specifications for a wide variety of electrical engineering facilities.

Duties (at the Full Performance Level) include, but are not limited to:

• Serves as resident and program engineer consisting of the planning, design, and overseeing of major healthcare system projects
• Provides engineering support to the assigned healthcare system and is responsible for maintaining construction specifications and drawings, maintaining technical reference library of codes, standards, and other regulations
• serves as the Integrated Project Team (IPT) Chairperson, comprised of diverse and multi discipline professional team members
• Maintains COR certification to oversee the administration of Facility Engineering Service's Architect/Engineer and Construction Contracts
• Conducts capital asset and infrastructure planning and design for the medical facility spanning initial strategic planning, concept development, design, construction, and effective implementation of complex buildings, utilities, and medical support systems
• Manages healthcare engineering project design and administers construction in accordance with VA policies and procedures, VA Design Guides, VA Design Manuals, VA Master Specifications and related industry codes and standards
• Performs healthcare engineering project construction management and post project activities while ensuring continuity of building and utility services for medical facility operations
• Assists in the provision of a continuing education program for clinical staff and maintenance personnel addressing the principles and application of building and utility systems in the delivery of health care
• Assists in development and implementation of the environment of care program that meets current Joint Commission, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), College of American Pathologists (CAP), NFPA, and VA requirements, particularly as it relates to construction safety and infection control

• Serves as a controls supervisor over multiple sections within the Facility Maintenance Branch such as: HVAC, Boiler Systems Repair, Industrial Controls, Metal Working Repair/ Fabrication.
• Coordinate with management officials and/or other personnel to develop work plans and schedules.
• Assign work operations to subordinate employees for deadline requirements.
• Review work requirements to develop new work processes.
• Responsible for planning, coordinating and directing a variety of work.

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, supplying into bakeries, supermarkets and online food delivery companies. They are looking for an experienced Multi-skilled Shift Engineer that is electrically biased, to join their close-knit team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all production equipment & site services
• Carry out PPM's, reactive maintenance & project work
• Working on conveyors, food production & packaging machinery, PLC's, mixers, rollers, ovens, freezers, automation & controls, control panels, steam systems, robotics, wrappers, baggers
• Carry out planned maintenance activities to ensure plant safety & reliability
• Dealing with pneumatics, inverters, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, inverters, sensors
• Project engineering - hands-on equipment upgrades & continuous improvements
• Utilise the CMMS systems fully and assist in its development

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Must be an experienced multi-skilled engineer but have a strong electrical biased
• Previously have worked in food or FMCG manufacturing/production
• Electrical safety and LOTO experience in an industrial environment
• Qualified to HNC/HND level preferably or NVQ Level 3 Engineering as a minimum
• MUST have completed a UK based time-served-apprenticeship
• Able to work well under pressure in a busy manufacturing environment
• Positive and driven character
• Knowledge of continuous improvements and project work
• Able to work well under pressure
• 17th or 18th Edition qualified ideally
• Working knowledge of CMMS systems
