Who You'll Work With
As an Apprentice Trainee in our Sales Engineering team, you will join a group of industry experts and technical leaders. Reporting to the System Engineering Manager, you'll collaborate with skilled field engineers and contribute to aligning our solutions with our clients' larger business goals. You'll work closely with our Product Management and Software Development teams to steer product developments and strategic direction.
What You’ll Do
You will:
- Partner with Arista Account Managers to understand customer pain points and conduct network architectural reviews.
- Conduct product presentations on Arista’s Open Networking Data Centre and Cognitive Campus solutions, including CloudVision, Security solutions, Endpoint Security, and Real-time Fabric Monitoring.
- Design and propose Arista Data Centre & Campus network solutions using leaf-spine architectures.
- Perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups and network deployments.
- Develop design guidelines and recommend network improvements to customers.
- Collaborate with the Sales Team to respond to RFP/RFQs.
- Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
- Represent Arista at industry events and conferences.
- Stay updated on competitive solutions, products, and services.
- Author white papers on technology and products.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a BE/BS/CS/CE technical degree.
- Interest in obtaining Network Industry Certifications (e.g., CCIE (R&S), JNCIE) preferred.
- Strong foundational knowledge in L2/L3 networking design and implementation.
- Familiarity with routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols (Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, Aruba).
- Interest in Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of network overlays preferred.
- Understanding of Ethernet, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, and QoS.
- Familiarity with industry-standard CLI.
- Interest in SDN and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) desired.
- Basic programming skills in Python and Ansible for network automation.
- Awareness of competitive products, solutions, and services.
- Ability to write white papers is a plus.
