Contracts Engineer
Meridian has a great opportunity for a Contracts Engineer to join a Top 10 Construction, M&E and Civil Engineering contractor in the UK. A pioneering company in the sector, they continue to grow and as such their team is in need of a Contracts Engineer. Requirements for this role:
- City and Guilds Electrical Installation and Qualifications as well as valid Health and Safety qualifications
- Experience managing contracts up to and around £1m in value
- HSEQ Management awareness and experience
- 5-years or more of relevant experience
- IT and Microsoft Office literate
- Strong mathematical skills, with an ability to produce accurate estimates and budgets, and accurately monitor finances
- Customer-focused, and comfortable visiting and speaking to customers
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
As the Contracts Engineer you will be managing projects across Manchester and the North West, working closely with the Management team. There will be an expectation to regularly visit these sites, as the role is predominantly site-based. Travel and car allowances are in place to cover the travel expected within this role.
The role itself will involve managing various multi-million pound projects, working closely with Project and Contract Managers to ensure successful project delivery. Duties will include management of all stages or projects to ensure complete delivery, calculate price variations and costs, estimation and management of budgets, preparation of invoicing, site management, production and review of risk assessments, and continuous development of client relations.
This role is customer-focused, and communication skills are essential. The need for clear communication is necessary for duties such as bidding and tendering documentation, site management and handling of day-to-day activities, or to present clear and accurate presentations as and when required.
