Following promotion of the previous postholder, the Technology team are looking to recruit a lecturer to deliver learning on curriculums within the wider curriculum of Technology for 16–19-year-old students. The successful person will undertake formal scheduled teaching duties of teaching, tutorials and student assessment within the subject areas of Automotive, Engineering and Marine. You may also deliver or support delivery of learning for the vocational aspects of the curriculum across 2 sites.

As a lecturer, you will provide pastoral and academic support for disengaged students to enable them to engage positively in programmes of learning, participating in meetings relating to additional support and referring and signposting students to additional support where required.

The successful candidate will have relevant teaching experience/qualifications in delivering subject area. You should have experience of teaching/tutoring groups and 1:1. You should have a passion and genuine interest in young people’s aspirations with an innovative approach to working with young people.

What skills and experience we're looking for

Mayfield Special School educate pupils with SLD, PMLD and pupils with social, emotional and behavioral difficulties. The school is operational on three sites which are 12 miles apart.

We are currently seeking an exceptional individual/s who has a positive outlook, is resilient, fun, creative, able to lead a team of TAs and with an understanding of the fundamentals of SEND pedagogy to join our teaching team at Mayfield School in Torquay in January 2025.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: high expectations of achievement, a vibrant and creative approach to learning, commitment to excellence and outstanding outcomes in both academic and emotional and social development and an ability to develop positive relationships with the children.
