The jobholder must be able to reach out to MNCs, local companies and sponsors to offer them value propositions so that they will engage with CLC and WCS platforms. He/she is expected to travel and work with foreign city halls especially when the overseas edition of WCS MF is held.

Responsibilities include:

• Strategy: Guide the team to strategically conceptualise, and periodically re-imagine WCS and related events, CLC and WCS webinars and publication concepts, products and work processes to remain relevant to CLC’s evolving priorities.
• Content: Internationally benchmark and ensure WCS remains ahead of similar international events. Guide the team to work with CLC’s other workstreams (principally, (1) Research and (2) Capability Development, International and Advisory) to curate and develop the content for CLC’s various knowledge platforms; and incorporate key partner events such as Smart Cities Workshop, MND R&D Symposia as part of the content ecosystem.
• Business Development: Formulate business strategies to develop WCS and its related events into a financially sustainable event. Propose new business strategies to reinvent and monetise CLC knowledge products and publications.
• Partner Relations: Work with the team to forge, maintain and grow relationships with key partners, particularly WCS stakeholders, sponsors and strategic partners as well as Mayors, city leaders, leading experts and Young Leaders.
• Operations: Oversee the work of the team, including vendors, to ensure public procurement policies and processes are observed, efficient delivery of various products to their specifications and requirements, including budget limits, deadlines, quality indicators, etc.
• Leadership: Leadership responsibilities including people development, team cohesion and morale, performance management, etc.

Requirements:

• Tertiary education in business with experience in urban related disciplines.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience, including at least some experience in the public sector, in the areas of urban planning and governance; liveability, sustainability and resilience.
• Experience in developing events, publications, journalism, marketing communications and/or partnerships will be ideal.
• Able to develop and drive business development strategies to make the WCS and related KP products financially sustainable.
• Proven track record in leading teams to deliver effective results, whilst exercising teamwork across CLC’s different workstreams.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage senior officials or business leaders, both internationally and locally.
• Experience in protocols of engaging senior international leaders.

Requirements:

· 8-10 years of experience in customer success management or customer support in the SaaS software/IT/internet industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.

· Familiar with Southeast Asia markets; experience in building teams from scratch in a startup environment is a plus.

· Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in marketing, business management, information technology, or a related field.

· Experience in SaaS product customer success management, with an understanding of SaaS customer needs and service models.

· Excellent team building and management skills, with strong communication, coordination, and leadership abilities.

Who you will work with:

You will report to the Vice President New Growth and is part of the New Growth Management Team. The Business Director works in an ecosystem where product solutions are developed both vertically and horizontally across product groups and segments. Therefore, close cooperation with the other Vertical Business Directors, as well as colleagues in the Technical Sales and Services, Technical Operations, Pricing and Digital functions is required. Moreover, the Business Director works very closely with the Sales and Customer Service organization to facilitate and enable the sales teams to sell the New Growth / products.
