• Serve as BLM’s principal liaison for the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and Tribal Offices concerning boundary surveys, land ownership, Fee-to-Trust transactions and other legal and technical matters related to trust and Federal interest lands.
• Resolve sensitive issues involving complex Indian land survey and title situations.
• Research, document, collect, and interpret administrative and historical records, for survey situations requiring extensive research, study, adaptation of records, history, and conflicting legal precedents for Federal and non-Federal sources.
• Plan, direct, document, and guide complex surveys and boundary investigations; design and collect accurate geodetic data. Prepare field notes of surveys in final form from field returns and prepare plats of surveys in near final form.
• Perform on-site observations such as corner search, collection of field measurements for informational or investigative purposes, make GPS locational observations, and process their findings.

• Performs work to dispose of personal, excess property to include property utilization, donation, and/or marketing decisions.
• Performs a variety of property disposal management, control and advisory activities such as advising on the destruction, Demilitarization or abandonment of property; ensuring proper handling, storage and accountability of excess property.
• Manages the financial accounts of property transactions and proceeds from sales; ensuring agencies receive the proceeds or credits from the sale of surplus property.
• Advises on developing and interpreting property disposal policies and procedures.
• Makes non-routine property processing decisions for individual property items.

What you'll need to succeed

• Sound Building Surveying experience post MRICS qualification
• Sound knowledge of construction methods and materials
• Good knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies
• IT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work as part of a team
