Position Summary:

The Department of Visual Arts & Art History at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) invites applications for a nine-month Visiting Instructor position in Graphic Design ​based on the Fort Lauderdale campus starting in August 2024 and ending at the conclusion of the Spring semester in May 2025.

The successful candidate must be committed to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring. We seek a candidate with demonstrated teaching and professional experience in the following areas: emergent media, interactive design, design theory, visual design principles, and typography. Must be able to teach core competencies in the context of changing practices in social/disruptive media and emergent technologies including, but not exclusive to, AI in design practice. The principal Solution Architect– Surgical Digital Products is responsible for leading the technical vision and design decisions for products in our ecosystem of surgical eye care. We are looking for a technical expert who is willing to challenge technical constraints and procedures to achieve agile design. As the visionary force behind and executor of the technical solution, this role guides on technical design and requirements to solve product technical stack challenges.

Our solution architects work on exciting ideas with product teams and interact with leaders across the business to deliver exceptional products.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Design the overall technological architecture of the product (i.e., front to back tech stack) with the help of product teams, business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical leaders.
• Work with the Product Manager(s) to align the roadmap with the tradeoffs of the product technical stack and share responsibility for building reusable and scalable components.
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions, architectural diagrams, and specifications in response to business needs.
• Translate complex business requirements into technical design decisions, solve problems with tech leads/developers and guide teams to implement.
• Prioritize solving business problems ahead of technological purity, but clearly articulates the tradeoffs to stakeholders.
• Design, deploy, and manage scalable solutions that offer flexible deployment options – on-premises and on-cloud. Ensure seamless integration with medical devices and other healthcare systems and data formats.
• Be proficient in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python), application frameworks (Spring, Django), and software development methodologies. Leverage experience with modern web applications, including developing responsive single page applications.
• Make architecture design decisions at a team, product, and ecosystem level.
• Manage technical priorities within the backlog effectively to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Mentor and coach technical leaders on best practices for the product technology stack, maintain coding standards and practices.
• Look to continuously improve the product technology stack and solve its engineering limitations. Participate in design and sprint reviews to identify and remove technical impediments.
• Excited about piloting new technology solutions to continuously improve the tech stack.

Core Qualifications Include:

• Proven experience as a Principal Architect. Experience in digital health or healthcare technology sector, with a focus on medical devices a plus.
• 5+ years software development experience building enterprise SaaS cloud-based solutions.
• Experience building software products on hyperscale infrastructure, including multi-cloud and hybrid cloud options.
• Experience with architectural design recommendation, guidance and leadership in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading the design, development, delivery and maintenance of large-scale and high-performance products.
• Knowledge of release management and CICD deployment workflow processes, from development release through production deployment.
• Experience with object-oriented code, Angular JS, Node JS, Java Spring boot, C++/C#, .NET, HTML, CSS, SQL Server, Front End Web, Web Services.
• Proficiency in modern cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with clinical teams and technical experts.
• Technical expertise that enables meaningful conversations with product architects & engineers. Positive, can-do attitude and value collaboration a must.

Preferred Qualification Include:

• Familiarity with medical and healthcare interoperability standards such as DICOM, HL7, FHIR
• Experience building software as a medical device (SaMD) and software in a medical device (SiMD) solutions, along with hands-on experience in medical device clinical workflows.

• BS, MS or Ph. D in Computer Science or related technical discipline

Cybersecurity Architect, Lead

The Opportunity:

Everyone knows security needs to be “baked in” to a system architecture, but you actually know how to bake it in. You can identify and implement ways to harden systems and reduce their attack surface. What if you could use your cyber engineering skills to design and build secure systems for the U.S. Government? We’re looking for an architect who can create solutions for the government that will stand up to even the most advanced cyber threats.

As a Cybersecurity Architect on our project, you’ll lead the architecture and design efforts of innovative Cybersecurity solutions and service offerings to protect federal networks. You’ll coordinate with dynamic team of thought leaders and experts to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer’s IT needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. We need to come up with the best solution, so you’ll investigate new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going. You’ll lead the team through a critical approach to network design, providing alternatives and customizing solutions, to maintain a balance of security and mission needs. This is a chance to make a difference in the security of the U.S. Government. Your technical expertise will be vital as you help customers overcome their most difficult challenges by leading Cybersecurity technologies and domains, including IoT and Cloud security, Automation and Orchestration (A&O), identify and access management, and machine learning. You Have:

• 5+ years of experience with IT operations or Cybersecurity
• 5+ years of experience with leading technical project delivery for large, complex organizations
• Experience with architecting Zero Trust solutions, road maps, and capabilities in alignment with industry standards, including NIST 800-207, and DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture
• Experience with leading product selection initiatives, including A&O, AI, analytics, secure DevOps, identify and access management, or network access control
• Ability to work with and guide senior leaders, including CISO, CIO, and CTO, and executives to ideate, build, and execute cybersecurity capability maturation
• Ability to collaborate with project and proposal teams effectively to incorporate Cybersecurity solutions and develop high quality implementation plans and roadmaps
• Ability to author technical documentation and whitepapers and blogs on leading Cybersecurity topics and concepts
• Secret clearance
• HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

• Experience in a Cybersecurity compliance, operations, or engineering leadership role
• Experience with selecting, designing, and implementing security tools and capabilities for large, complex federal or commercial organizations
• Experience with innovative Cybersecurity capabilities, including A&O, AI and machine learning, NGFW, and Big Data

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
