A Day in the Life

- Lead the development and execution of innovative and strategic creative concepts across all mediums, including print, digital, social media, and more.
- Drive the creative vision for campaigns, ensuring alignment with client objectives and brand strategies.
Inspire and mentor a diverse creative team, including designers, art directors, and copywriters, fostering an environment of collaboration and growth.
- Present and pitch creative concepts to clients, effectively articulating the vision, strategy, and impact of the work.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of exceptional, high-quality work that exceeds client expectations.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating them into the creative process to maintain our competitive edge.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to copywriters and art directors, fostering their growth and development.

Key responsibilities of the ESC Chief Architect include:

Leader: Leads in creating a shared strategic vision for Enterprise and Solution Architecture, motivating colleagues to achieve this vision, and providing clear direction regarding the requirement to execute it. Leads the development and documents the complexity, interrelationships, and dependencies of the Information Technology (IT) Systems in the ESC Program and Portfolio. Leads the ESC EA effort to develop strategies, plans, roadmaps, and schedules to ensure the ESC IT Systems stay current in software, hardware and cloud technology and ESC’s implementation and adoption of artificial intelligence.

Mentor: Organizes and supports the architecture and application development/maintenance teams, aligning individual work assignments to achieve team goals, identifying, and addressing skill or resource gaps, and mentoring staff in support of their effectiveness and professional development.

Change agent: Challenges the status quo, recognizes opportunities in new ways of doing things, and embraces the challenges of making change in the ESC IT environment. Must be able to recognize and understand the emerging information technology trends which are driving change and be able to quickly pivot the ESC EA practice; particularly in the areas of emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, data management and software development/maintenance practices. Empowers and promotes rapid IT innovation while ensuring these innovations are integrated into a single unified ESC EA.

Communicator: Builds coalitions to achieve concrete strategic goals. Communicates effectively in outreach to senior directors, managers, analysts, system architects, and engineers in the implementation of and in understanding the details of the strategy sufficiently well to make decisions and execute the plan that leads to realization of the shared vision.

Contacts are internal and external. Often represents ESC as the primary technical authority for major projects, programs, and other areas of ESC responsibility. Formulates and recommends organizational positions on major projects/policies/issues to senior management. Prepares, reviews, and may approve organizational reports or policies for internal and external distribution. Develops briefings to convey strategic vision or policies to internal and external audiences. Develops new policies, procedures, and approaches taking into consideration FAA policies, government-wide rules and regulations, and industry standards. Develops innovative approaches to attain organizational objectives and optimize resource utilization. Creates, plans, and conducts studies involving complex issues and unique problems. Demonstrates independence in planning time and using assigned resources to accomplish assignments and projects.

Expert: Oversees the information technology used to represent ESC business, data, investment and technology entities and their relationships. These representations directly support strategic planning and decision making. As Chief Architect, the incumbent guides the ESC in determining what it needs to know and how that knowledge should be organized for greatest impact.

Applies experience, expert technical knowledge, and understanding of new technologies and methodologies to perform critical tasks requiring the development of new concepts, systems, or innovative approaches. Identifies and resolves highly complex problems or issues which can be cross organizational. Proposes recommendations for preventive actions. Assignments may include complex system design and integration; extensive research and analysis; investigation and inspection activities; compliance and enforcement.

Starting at $127,699 Per Year (FV K)

Serves as Associate Director, Tribal Justice Support (TJS) who will work directly with OJS Deputy Bureau Director in the development and execution of policies, plans, goals, objectives and implementation strategies to ensure compliance with all statutory obligations and regulatory requirements in the areas under purview.

• Identifies program deficiencies and takes appropriate action to improve operations while adhering to legal and policy requirements.
• Follows through to achieve desired outcome including extensively interacting with executive and managerial personnel, both within and outside the Federal government and tribal staff.
• Makes determinations on all law tribal justice systems policy issues and initiatives and provides guidance concerning the impact of such determinations.
• Serves as primary technical advisor to the Deputy Bureau Director on judicial and ethical issues and problems.
• Has full oversight responsibility for tribal courts programs, which may include, but is not limited to, complex research and analytical services in support judicial activities; project development, planning and implementation of special projects; and development of legislative initiatives.
• Serves as the representative of TJS through liaison activities with high level management in Federal Agencies, State Agencies, Indian tribes, individual tribal members and various private and public organizations.
• Provides overall direction and guidance to field staff in the conduct of reviews, tribal and Bureau judicial management systems and operations.
