This post is designed to strengthen the midwifery contribution to the public health agenda for women and families in Islington, Haringey and others outside these Boroughs who choose Whittington Health for their maternity care. Specifically, setting in place strategies and frameworks to address inequalities in health and access to health care for vulnerable women. The post holder will provide clinical leadership; advice and support to all colleagues providing midwifery care in primary and secondary care settings. S/he will be an expert practitioner and source of expertise for the multi-professional and organisational team involved in providing health care for pregnant women from vulnerable groups. The Midwife Consultant for Public Health and Education will contribute some time to midwifery clinical practice. The expectations of this post will be met through professional leadership, consultancy, education and training, research, audit and evaluation, practice and service development. The focus of the role is to use midwifery expertise to define the public health role of the midwife, incorporating pre-conception advice, health promotion, services to support pregnant teenagers, smoking cessation, the effects and implications of domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, breastfeeding rates, parenting skills, postnatal examination, mental health, child protection and womens health. In addition, the Midwife Consultant will lead the strategy for continuity of care for vulnerable women and may hold a small personal caseload to whom she/he will provide continuity of care/carer. We are seeking an experienced OISC registered advisors at Level 1 or 2. You must have at least 2 years experience in case working. Office based only.

We will also consider immigration solicitor regulated by the SRA.

You will be responsible for representing clients in legal matters, providing legal advice, and negotiating on behalf of clients.

Your responsibilities:

Conduct consultations. Provide legal advice and strategic reports.
Prepare legal matters, including applications, instructions, legal cover letter and other supporting documents. Submit applications to the UKVI.
Must have good experience in prepare both in-country or out-country visa applications for family, children, adult dependants, which would include visit and other standard visa process. Should have 12 months experience.
Competent in business related visas including Global Talent, Innovator, Mobility and skilled worker programs. Must have 12 months experience including sponsor licence work.
If you are a Level 2 advisor, then prepare appeal grounds.
To have strong ability on the phone, able to speak with new and existing clients, and able to resolve legal matters.
Manage your own caseload, converting enquiries from new clients.
Advise clients, assess relevant documents for UK visas and immigration process.
Preparing applications to be submitted to the UKVI and overseas.
Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in the UK Immigration Law.
Very good English language skills, an additional language is a bonus.
You must be able to deal with complex matters, appeal matters and appeal bundles.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.
- Proven experience as an OISC advisor or Solicitor.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- License to practice law in the jurisdiction.

* Preparing and issuing deeds for the Solicitor
* Liaising with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator
* Dealing with the general administrative work delegated to the department

In order to be considered for this role your skills and experience should include:
* Previous experience within a Paralegal role with exposure to property matters such as the above - this experience is essential
* An understanding & working knowledge of Scottish Property Law
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent administration, organisation & time management skills, with the ability to prioritise & complete a busy workload effectively
* Solid IT Skills including the full MS Office suite
