Brief description of support work
Personal care primarily with some domestic support to an elderly woman in her home. Blister pack meds. The lady has dementia, poor mobility, is blind, and has a retired guide dog. Lives with husband, who would be your employer. Slight moving and handling. Lives near City Centre – but free car parking for the worker. Has a PA Team of 2 in place but needs additional hours of support as below

Hours and rate of pay – up to 35 hours per week at £13 per hour

Days and hours – flexible - part or full time to suit, preference for weekends, and 12 hour waking nights available if wished.

Person specification
A woman of any age who has some basic experience of providing care and support to an adult or older person. Someone with a flexible and relaxed approach and a sense of humour. No formal qualifications are required. A driving license is not necessary

Care Support Worker (Personal Assistant)

Location: Edinburgh - Kingsknowe area.
Salary: £12 per hour.
Contract: Permanent contracts of between 15 to 25 hours per week plus overnight support. Examples of shifts - 8.30am-1.30pm, 1.30pm-6.30pm and 6.30pm-11.30pm plus overnight support.

Annie enjoys watching a variety of sports on TV including tennis, athletics, rugby, to name a few. She also enjoys going to Edinburgh and Scotland home rugby games with her stepdad. She regularly visits the local library to get both printed and audio books and frequently enjoys visits to the nearby Sainsbury's for shopping and bargains!

Annie is a lovely young woman who loves spending time with her PA's, she likes to chat and have a laugh with her staff. Annie has a wicked sense of humour and would like her staff to have a good sense of humour also.

Annie likes watching the news, movies and a variety of other programmes, particularly on Netflix and Disney, and she likes to talk about these. Christmas time is her favourite time of the year as she loves the atmosphere and of course Christmas movies which she tries to resist watching from September but usually fails. Music is also a particular interest of hers and she especially likes pop and rock and will enjoy watching music videos on her TV or computer.

Annie needs a dedicated team around her who are compassionate and person centred and who will respect her wishes. Annie would like a team who enjoys supporting her in these interests and be able to make her feel happy and safe whilst enabling her to live her best life! Main Duties and Responsibilities


Provide a high-quality secretarial support service and exemplary client care

Work closely with the Residential and Rural Property Groups, and as a secretarial unit, to deal with all administrative and secretarial aspects of the conveyancing process including issuing Letters of Engagement/ Terms of Business, preparing draft dispositions, registration forms and LBTT returns, and preparing fee notes and cash accounts

Provide administrative support to the estate agency function as required

Collaborate and work with secretarial and other colleagues within the team to develop and document processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness, prioritise work, share knowledge and monitor workflow

Maintain accurate records and systems using the firm's document management system

Both copy and audio typing, including notes of telephone calls, meeting notes etc

Process AML documentation accurately to conclusion; carry out AML checks using SmartSearch, complete risk assessments and liaise with internal stakeholders

Assist with basic legal research

Organise meetings, diary management and make travel arrangements as required

Photocopying, scanning and general office administration

Undertake any other reasonable duties as they arise.



Skills, Knowledge and Experience


Previous experience working as a Conveyancing Secretary is essential

Highly motivated and committed to delivering an excellent level of service to clients and colleagues

Well-developed interpersonal skills, both written and oral

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise own workload

A high level of accuracy with attention to detail, and the ability to proof own work

The Sheriff Appeal Court (Civil), based at Parliament House in Edinburgh have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join the team as an Administrative Officer on a fixed term contract for an initial period of 6 months with the possibility of extension thereafter.

The Sheriff Appeal Court (SAC) Civil commenced in 2016, as part of the Scottish Civil Courts Reforms. The SAC (Civil) team is based in Parliament House, Edinburgh. The Court hears appeals against decisions from the sheriff courts.

Administrative Officers carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court or provide support to other functions within the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.

The Key Responsibilities

To undertake a number of general administrative duties including:

To support the Clerk of Court and Assistant Clerk in efficiently processing the work of the Sheriff Appeal Court;

To establish effective communications and working relationships with the members of the Sheriff Appeal Court bench, legal practitioners and colleagues;

To process and distribute incoming mail which comprises of parts of appeal processes and other documents;

To assist in the processing of the daily business of the SAC (Civil), including, but not limited to:
*dealing with enquiries at the public counter, via mail, telephone and email;
*liaising with the procedural Appeal Sheriff;
*processing all aspects of civil applications received by the Sheriff Appeal Court, including stated case appeals;
*accounting for fees where appropriate;
*transmission of papers to the SAC bench and Court Clerk; and
maintaining the Sheriff Appeal Court Register
