We are looking for a well organised individual to ensure an effective clerical support service is provided to our stakeholders and customers.

Duties for the post include providing an effective financial business support service, including the handling and recording of both Council and client fund monies; processing manual and computerised financial, client and service information; producing and analysing reports; document production including typing letters & reports; processing purchase orders; providing basic IT assistance and instructing, allocating and checking work of employees and, offering advice and guidance to clerical assistants where required.

You will work as part of the Customer & Business Services team supporting multiple social work establishments across Renfrewshire. You may work independently or as part of an onsite team and will be first point of contact for clerical support to local managers and their staff. Effective organisational skills and a flexible approach are therefore essential, as are effective communication skills as you will be working in busy establishments supporting social work clients or their families.

It is essential that you have experience of working in a clerical role and carrying out a wide range of support duties, as well as working with a range of software packages including Microsoft Excel and databases. It is also essential that you have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, work to deadlines and quality standards and have effective customer service skills as well as being self-motivated and resilient when handling some challenging and vulnerable client groups.

It is desirable that you have knowledge of procurement systems as well as service user / customer information systems. Previous experience of supervising staff is also desirable along with an SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Personal Banker aligned to one of our branches, you’ll be in the perfect place to build great relationships with our customers, as well as proactively promoting the benefits of our growing range of digital services to simplify and enhance their banking experience.

Our customers will look to you to support them in their decisions as to how they bank with us. You'll act as a trusted expert, providing them with the knowledge they need to make the most of their money. With an emphasis on the delivery of our popular and insightful Financial Health Check you’ll make sure they're fully informed when it comes to the products and services we offer.

Day to day, you’ll be:

• Meeting and supporting customers via video banking from home or face to face in a branch
• Conducting Financial Health Checks and reviewing customer accounts
• Identifying products and services that are right for our customers, helping them to make the most of their money and savings
• Identifying opportunities to help customers with more complex needs such as mortgages, private banking, business banking and protection
• Completing outbound care calls to customers to grow and maintain the relationship

• The ability to build rapport and trust with customers in both face to face and virtual environments and provide them with the right options for their circumstances
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine interest building relationships
• Excellent planning and organisational skills

Hours

• Full time – 35hrs
• 9 Month fixed term contract
• Flexibility to work hours between 08:00 - 20:00
• You’ll have options to enable a suitable balance of working from home and in the branch, we will need you to be branch based at times so you can connect and learn with colleagues. Working from home kit can be provided
• Typically, your working hours will align to our customer opening hours, with some Saturdays and evenings included, we will discuss your specific working pattern in more detail at interview

Salary: £25,501 per year (pro rata for hours worked)

You’ll join on a competitive salary of £25,501 and in addition you’ll receive a contribution to help you save for retirement. You will support the operational delivery of Customer & Business Services by overseeing clerical tasks in relation to the end to end purchase to pay processes as directed by the Team Leader

It is essential that you relevant administrative/clerical experience within an office environment.

Have an understanding of employee related processes and related legislation; experience in delivering a wide range of clerical tasks: supporting the production of management information; working with different services, partners & agencies; using core employee related ICT systems; have effective IT, interpersonal, communication, literacy, numeracy, problem solving, task and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a fast paced environment, work as part of a team and on your own initiative and be able to demonstrate effective leadership and development skills.

In addition, you must have a responsible approach to sensitive information and have a flexible approach to work to support activities across various locations throughout Renfrewshire.
