Salary: £45,000 plus excellent benefits.

Benefits: 25 days holiday plus BH, flex benefits scheme

Hours of work: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

Location: Stevenage

Role Responsibilities:

• Advise on any Continuous Improvement Plan opportunities for the contract.
• Works to be developed to meet all relevant British Standards and specific site rules and procedures.
• Support with H&S training delivered on site to ensure the needs of the learners are being met by quality and in date/relevant training modules.
• Conduct random Safety tours to ensure compliance.
• Be prepared to support permit issuers as required with any additional requirements required to meet statutory requirements on the contract.
• Be prepared to support at other contract sites as required by the New Works Manager.
• Take prompt action to correct any shortfalls which may be reported by either the client or from company quality audits.

The successful person:

• Knowledge of health and safety in a construction and facilities management environment
• NEBOSH Certificate required, working towards considered.
• Experience of working in a pharmaceutical environment an advantage
• Experience of permit to work systems.
• Experience in a client facing role and being able to manage and ensure compliance with client's processes and procedures

Key responsibilities:

• Act as Certifying Officer, ensuring that the Local Government Financial Regulations are adhered to. Administer the raising of purchase orders, sundry debtor and cheque requests, co-ordinate collation of contract documents and maintain a contract register to verify that invoices are correct and reconcile accounts for the departmental purchasing card.
• Act as Microsoft 365 Champion, driving adoption of the software in line with corporate standards and maximising the use of 365 to support business and finance administration processes and providing training and support to colleagues. Manage the structure and security of Share Point and Teams sites to ensure that documents are stored appropriately, avoiding duplication and conforming to data protection legislation.
• Provide effective administrative support to the management team. Organise internal and external meetings, events and workshops, prepare resources, and accurately record notes and actions. • Assist with the delivery of corporate projects and government funded schemes, collaborate with service areas across the authority as required to collate data and monitor actions, ensuring that accurate demand and outcome statistics are recorded and reported, and liaise with the accountancy team to administrate the allocation of budgets and funding

You will need:

• NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
• Extensive experience of working in Business Administration and managing process
• Considerable experience of financial administration

Role Summary:

As part of this role, the Clerk of Works will play a pivotal role in ensuring that construction projects adhere to contract specifications and safety standards. Based in Winchester with site-based responsibilities, the successful candidate will monitor construction progress, relay instructions to contractors, and resolve minor design issues. Effective communication with stakeholders and prioritising Health & Safety are paramount in this dynamic role.

Responsibilities:

• Check and monitor construction work to ensure compliance with contract specifications and safety standards.
• Relay instructions to contractors, subject to written confirmation by the NEC4 Project Manager or Supervisor.
• Inform project management of progress and issues arising, resolving minor design issues with contractors.
• Take measurements, compile diaries, and maintain records on day works, claims, and related matters.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• RQF level 3 or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in Civil Engineering and Highways projects construction.
• Knowledge of statutory regulations including chapter 8 TSM, NRSWA, and Health and Safety regulations.

Decision Making Areas:

• Assess and interpret contract documents and drawings to ensure correct execution of works.
• Prioritise workload on multiple concurrent schemes.
• Know when to seek assistance or report problems.

Working Conditions:

• Site-based role with provision of site office or central office location.
• Regular presence on live highways and construction sites, including lone working.
• Effective communication with colleagues, contractors, and developers in challenging environments.
• Ability to meet travel requirements associated with the role.
