This position is located under the Office of Management, Acquisition Management Division (AMD) in Washington, District of Columbia.
Serves as the Deputy Chief, Acquisition Management Division (AMD), within the Office of Management, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Department of Justice. AMD provides all internal and external stakeholders and business partners with strategic business solutions for managing, supervising, performing, or developing policies and procedures involving the procurement of supplies, services, construction, or research and development using formal advertising or negotiation procedures; the evaluation of contract price proposals; and the administration or termination and close out of contracts.
- In conjunction with the Division Chief, has the authority for overseeing the overall planning, directing and timely execution of procurement of supplies, services, construction, using formal advertising or negotiation procedures; the evaluation of contract price proposals; and the administration or termination and close out of contracts.
- Supports the Chief in planning and justifying budget requests for the program areas within the division and estimates long- and short-term personnel and equipment needs based on estimated work trends and mission emphasis.
- Responsible for the effective administration of Division resources, decides on procedural, organizational, administrative, or other internal changes in the Division's operations to ensure continuous improvement and the efficient accomplishment of work.
- Along with the Division Chief, provides coordination and guidance to all division employees and other applicable organizations to perform continuous appraisal of the utilization of resources in accomplishing program objectives and goals.
- In conjunction with the Division Chief, oversees staff and managerial work concerned with analyzing, developing, evaluating, and promoting improvements in programs' policies, plans, methods, procedures, and systems that are coordinated by AMD. Identifies and clarifies issues; identifies and presents opposing views without bias; evaluates policy options and examines the consequences of adopting them.
