We are an award-winning tour operator, the UK’s leading escorted holiday company. We have been established for over 40 years. Across our portfolio of holidays, we tailor unique experiences for small intimate groups of travellers or larger tours of 50 plus passengers.
As one of our Travel Consultants, you'll play a crucial role in providing personalised travel experiences to our customers, guiding them through their booking journey with expertise and care. ** The first 4/6 weeks in this role you will be required to work from your assigned office location, either Ashford, Kent or Crawley. The hours for the 1st 4/6 weeks will be Monday to Friday 9-5.
***Once you have successfully completed the induction, your hours will incorporate working 2 Saturdays a month and one Sunday. Our team of 40 consultants cover weekends on a rota basis.

Main ResponsibilitiesOur Travel Consultants are responsible for the following tasks:
- Providing our customers with exceptional service throughout their booking journey.
- Identifying customer requirements to book the perfect holiday for them from the Saga and Titan product range.
- Achieving and exceeding sales, conversion, and quality targets.
- Developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of our products, systems and processes.
- Identifying and upselling suitable elements to enhance the customer experience and increase booking revenue.
- Following up all outstanding quotes and options.
- Always maintaining GDPR compliance, whilst adhering to FCA requirements/standards in the sale of insurance policies.
The Ideal CandidateWe need our Travel Consultants to be passionate about all things travel. You will need to be confident on the phone and demonstrate sales and customer service skills, as well as demonstrating the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in a sales environment, either face to face or over the phone, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
- Able to articulate ideas clearly and effectively through both spoken and written channels.
- Meticulous in handling tasks, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Competent across IT systems and able to manage the administration of bookings and requests efficiently.
- Capable of maintaining productivity and quality even in fast-paced environments.
Desirable:
- Proven ability to work toward and surpass performance goals.
- Extensive Travel Experience: Passionate about exploring new destinations, with first-hand knowledge of various travel aspects.
- Strong Geographical Knowledge: Cities, airports (including codes), and key landmarks.
- Bucket list destinations and must-see sights.
- Experience in customer service or Contact Centre environments.
- Knowledge of a GDS System (Sabre Preferable): Familiarity with Sabre or similar global distribution systems used in the travel industry.
Successful candidates selected for the interview stage will be invited to Ashford / Crawley for an assessment. Due to take place the end of May. The group assessment will be for half a day meeting the team and learning more about Saga Travel Group. This assessment will allow us to evaluate your skills for the role but ultimately give you an insight to life at Saga!
