Our client a trusted UK Ministry of Defence partner seeks an experienced continuous improvement manufacturing engineer. The role involves optimising their logistics reducing waste and enhancing productivity responsibilities include developing process for missile system delivery cross functional collaboration in leadership within assembly operations period.
What we're looking for:
- Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21.

- Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject.

- BEng in relevant Engineering or Science Degree
As a CI Team member your skills and experience will ideally include:
- Strong background in manufacturing and warehousing, with a preference for experience in supply chain goods receiving practises.
- Understand MRP and just-in-time principles, preferably within a stores environment, and have experience supporting operations in a fast-paced production setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, particularly the ability to influence teams outside of their direct reporting structure and form productive working relationships across functions.
- Possess expertise in lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma methodologies, and CI and Quality tools, and have experience leading practical problem-solving exercises with multifunctional teams.
- Adept at producing maintaining an interpretating data using a structured approach, managing projects from inception to completion.
- Proficient in system tools, techniques, and Minitab software.
- Understanding of manufacturing, logistical, and engineering processes is also necessary.
What you'll get to do as a Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer:
The ideal candidate will set up, support, and govern Continuous Improvement (CI) reviews, ensuring they are robust and sustainable. They will facilitate and execute CI plans to implement corrective and preventive actions, supporting root cause analysis for externally supplied data products. Additionally, they will work to reduce defects within the stores area of the business, including rework and non-conformance, using 8D/A3 methodology. The successful candidate will implement process controls and enhance process capability based on critical stores end logistics processes driven by both internal and external customers. They will also facilitate Problem Prevention System (PPS) for root cause analysis within manufacturing and logistics facilities, providing technical expertise on lean tools and change management. Furthermore, they will manage and drive improvement activities within the business.
