Part of a larger group, with the commitment to quality evident across all group entities, and expansion/growth across the board, the General Manager at Chichester is looking for a workshop/production manager and number 2 to effectively run the site whilst the work in support of continued growth takes them off-site.
Your Position:
As such, they are seeking a workshop manager experience in bespoke joinery to lead the team and factories manufacturing operations. This is a pivotal role to the success of the Chichester site, and requires you to oversee manufacturing, and ensure processes are carried out efficiently, safely and effectively. As a hands-on leader, you will not only manage but also directly engage with your team, ensuring high-quality production and workplace morale.
Your Responsibilities
Working alongside Engineering and Commercial team to ensure delivery of projects in a timely manner.
Day-to-day management and ownership of the production environment, leading staff across Machining, Workbench/Bench Joining, Assembly and Fabrication processes.
Quality - to ensure high standards and reputation for Joinery excellence are continued and developed.
HSE - taking responsibility for Health & Safety compliance in the factory.
Managing inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring availability for scheduled work.
Maintaining workshop tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and compliant with safety regulations.
Dealing with production issues - taking a pragmatic approach and ownership of day-to-day challenges.

Leader - to deal with staffing issues and ensure work is conducted effectively, blockers are removed promptly, even if it means taking an assertive approach when necessary.
