About the role
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times
• Follow all Covanta Energy Corporation safety policies
• The inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment
• Inspect and adjust, as necessary, the mechanical alignment, balance, level, and general condition of conveyors, compressors, boilers, pumps, water treatment equipment, stokers, fans turbines, diesel engines, gear reducers, , and other rotating equipment throughout the plant and as required, check, repair, adjust, or replace couplings, bearings and mounts
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks including routine vibration test, thermography & ultrasonic testing, and will actively participate in the periodic teardown and internal inspection of major equipment
• Use various shop equipment in the performance of his/her assigned tasks, such as the repair or rebuilding of sootblower drives, gearboxes, speed reducers, pumps and other assemblies

Salary: $41.53 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour straight Days shift

Position Requirements:
Requirements: (Education, Skills, Certificate, Licenses, Experience):
The position of Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright requires at least 3 or more years of experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
A High School education and/or formal technical or apprentice training is required.
Must be a licensed Industrial Millwright with provincial or inter-provincial trade certification, along with completing 4 years of apprentice.
Experience:- 3 or more years industrial experience with heavy industry.
- Inspect and adjust, as necessary, the mechanical alignment, balance, level, and general condition of conveyors, compressors, boilers, pumps, water treatment equipment, stokers, fans turbines, diesel engines, gear reducers, , and other rotating equipment throughout the plant and as required, check, repair, adjust, or replace couplings, bearings and mounts.
- Experienced with rigging and lifting.
- Computer skills including basic maintenance management software.
- Basic welding skills.
- Demonstrated advanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven initiative and detail oriented.
