Recruiting Group runs Assessment Centres (AC) for Regular and Reserve Officer and Soldier candidates, which must be passed before applicants are offered a Basic Training place. The Health Technician is a dual role position and as such are required to carry out baseline medical tests in line with accepted policies and procedures. These would usually include (but no be limited to) audiometry, ECG, eyesight testing, colour vision, height and weight measurement, body mass index, urinalysis, and spirometry (lung functions). Additionally, they would be required to carry out administrative tasks such as post pick up, scanning, data input, pre-employment checks and management of health care records.
The role is based at Pirbright Assessment Centre. Hours of work will be, Monday to Thursday at 8:15am - 5pm and Friday at 8am - 12:30pm.
Or
Monday to Thursday at 8am - 4pm and Friday at 8am - 1pm.
You will required to work 1 Friday afternoon and full day Saturday a month which can be claimed back in time off in lieu.
You do not need previous medical/clinical experience in order to carry out this role What you'll be doing:
• Conducting medical screening tests, including, Audiometry, vision testing, colour perception, height, weight, body mass index, peak flow, spirometry, Electrocardiograph (ECG) and urinalysis.
• Ensuring medical documents required for medical screening are available in a timely manner
• Processing ID and proof of address documentation
• Ensuring all results are accurately documented in an appropriate format, both written and electronically
• Liaising with other health care professionals and external agencies on questions regarding medical standards
• Typing letters, filing and photocopying and responding to email queries
What we're looking for:
• Must be IT literate and comfortable using inhouse database
• Accurate data entry skills
• Previous administration experience or experience within a medical environment is highly desirable
• Flexible and adaptable to working environments
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Comfortable in carrying out physical checks on potential recruits
