CLINICAL
To hold a caseload of both specialist and generic work dependant on clinical competence and experience. To undertake assessments, treatment and consultation work based upon a conceptual framework and employing research based evidence.

About the role

The post holder will provide a dedicated AMHP response during daytime working hours Monday to Friday 9.00am 17-00pm. The role will be supported by a backup rota and contingency rota from other AMHPs from across adult service in the borough. The AMHP service is embedded in the community mental health team based at Humphrey House.

The main purpose of the AMHP post is to provide an effective AMHP service to meet the needs of Bury residents who might also be residing in a wider geographic area in keeping with Bury council’s statutory AMHP responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983.

The AMHP role will ensure wherever possible that referrals to the service are managed within the resources provided in the scope of the AMHP rota. This may require the post holder to complete multiple assessments to meet the service demand and occasionally there may be the necessity to work outside of the allocated working day. Bury local authority have a robust Time off in Lieu (TOIL) in place to support a work-life-balance.

To maintain and improve professional standards of your practice and across the wider AMHP service through personal development and specialist AMHP related training including regular supervision.

To promote and incorporate principles and values set out in the mental health act and the mental health act code of practice and other relevant legislation.

To participate in undertaking all duties associated with the role of an AMHP.

Clinical:

The Mental Health Support Team in SEN schools are undergoing a majorexpansion, with our services across Hertfordshire and West Essex. The Mental Health Support Team offers early intervention mental health support, to children and their families, within schools. The Sens MHST is the only MHST within the country, to offer support specifically to SEN schools we are hosted by the PALMS service, and work withinHertfordshire and West Essex. We currently work in 20 SEN schools with a plan to expand,offering tailored support to children with additional needs, learning disabilities, and Autistic Spectrum Disorder aged 5-18. Job Title: Fylde Coast Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team (RITT) Community Mental Health Nurse Band 6

Hours: 37.5 hours – 1.0 WTE

Fylde Coast RITT is a crisis Older Adults Community Mental Health service based at the Lytham Unit, Lytham Hospital.

We are a 7 day a week service with operating hours from 8am to 8pm, shifts worked at present can be Early (8-4pm) Late (12-8pm), including weekend working. Flexible working can also be considered to work 4 x 9.5 hour days (8am – 6pm / 10am – 8pm daily).

We are a multi- disciplinary team, with close working links with other health departments, social services and voluntary agencies.

Our service users can present with both functional and organic mental health difficulties which are often combined with complex social care and physical health needs.







RITT has 2 core functions:

· Home treatment:

The provision of care coordination for patients who are experiencing acute mental health difficulties and who are presenting as high risk to themselves or others in the community and so require intensive home support from community services. Conducting Gatekeeping assessments for mental health inpatient admissions is a core component of this role as is facilitating early discharge from inpatient units.

· Care Home Liaison Team:

Providing support for service users and carers for people who live in a residential home and are presenting with Behavioural and or Psychological Symptoms of dementia.

We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Community Mental Health who has an enthusiasm for and passion to work within older adult’s mental health services.

The Band 6 Nurse will have the opportunity to consolidate their skills in mental health nursing as well as developing the specialist skills needed in an older adults mental health.

There is an expectation that the successful applicants would be able to act up in the absence of the Deputy Manager and Manager, they would also have some supervision responsibilities to more junior team members.

RESEARCH AND SERVICE EVALUATION
To maintain an up to date knowledge of the evidence base in relation to mental health knowledge and other interventions.
. To contribute to planning and implementing systems for evaluation and monitoring of therapeutic practice and outcomes of clinical work within the service.
. Participate in research, evaluation and audit in response to the clinical and professional interest of the post, and to monitor standards, quality and consumer reaction to the provision of services in accordance with NICE guidance
. Participate in appropriate audit. Quality assurance programmes and research as directed.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
7.1.To receive and engage in regular clinical supervision in accordance with Trust Clinical Governance Standards and the Code of Practice and ethical guidelines of professional body
7.2. To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice through active participation in internal and external CPD training in consultation with the post holders service manager to meet professional body requirements for CPD and
registration.
7.3. To contribute to the development of best practice in the service by taking part in regular supervision and appraisal and maintaining awareness of current developments in the field.
7.4. To maintain professional body registration.
