Working within the wider HUC unscheduled care division and with local healthcare providers, the Advanced Nurse Practitioner will complete the assessment and treatment of patients at a Nurse led Integrated Urgent Care Hub (IUCH), who may present with acute and/or chronic illnesses and/or injury; in order to determine a clinical diagnosis, treatment and appropriate discharge. Successful applicants will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including remote GPs, other ANPs/ENPs/ECPs (Urgent Care Practitioners) and operational staff. All staff are expected to contribute to meeting Key Performance Indicators mandated by the service within the time frames identified. The post holder will work the full complement of the rota as required by the service. Principle Responsibilities will Include: To autonomously undertake clinical assessments, diagnose, treat and discharge patients over the age of 1 with a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries, that have been triaged and referred by the patients own GP or 111. Pharmacy Services Manage the distribution of departmental correspondence. Ensure that Trust policies/procedures and department records are kept up to date including staff lists, essential training records etc. To co-ordinate the recruitment of new staff including advertising, organisation of interviews, reference requests, employment checks and the ordering of new uniforms etc. To manage departmental personnel files, co-ordinating hospital/departmental induction for new staff and terminations for leavers. The Department of Health called for reform of the current death certification process. Based upon the Inquirys findings, the DH proposed that a new role of Medical Examiner be established within healthcare environments. Medical Examiners will be appropriately trained senior doctors who will verify clinical information on Medical Certificates of Cause of Death (MCCDs), to ensure appropriate referrals to the Coroner and accuracy and consistency of MCCD content. They will be responsible for the scrutiny of the documentation and circumstances arising from deaths in West Suffolk Hospital. It is anticipated that all deaths in primary and secondary care will be scrutinised by the medical examiner in the future, and as a national endeavour Medical Examiners will scrutinise all deaths in England and Wales.Medical practitioners must be registered with a license to practise in the UK by the GMC, with at least five years experience. The candidate must have been registered as a medical practitioner throughout the previous five years as at the date of appointment. Medical examiners will need the agreement of their current service/practice managers to be flexible in their roles.
