Job Description

Working hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 6am - 12 noon.

As a Sample Registration Technician, you will complete the registration of water samples for a given method. You will also assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory.

Please note, no previous experience within laboratory is required, full training is provided. We are keen to receive applications from candidates who are willing to learn new skills and used to working within a fast paced environment.

Duties include:

Sorts through all sample deliveries and arranges samples in time order.
Match sample paperwork to the relevant samples.
Register samples into our IT system meeting the testing requirements provided by the customer.
Communicate with internal teams or external customers to clarify testing details or specifications.
Troubleshoot any issues related to sample registration.
Ensure accurate labelling, storage and disposal of samples takes place.
Ensure that sample registration is completed in a timely manner.
Work in line with our quality procedures to maintain accreditation.
Collaborate with other team members and show flexibility to help meet demand.
Work with the team to ensure that all waste generated is removed from the lab via the correct waste streams.
Undertake any other reasonable task or responsibility requested by a senior manager.

About the role

The faculty of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic Engineering are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Programme Leader in Engineering to join the well-established team. This is an academic and practical teaching role, in which you will work closely with other Programme Leaders and Head of Area for Engineering to provide high quality teaching and learning to a range of differing levels of learners.

Other job duties include:

Undertaking administrative duties related to programme.
Dealing with queries via phone, email, and letter.
Analysing data and producing reports using a range of systems.
Organising meetings, parents’ evening, and other college events.
Completing a self-assessment report to demonstrate academic achievements throughout the year and reflect upon.
Follow a comprehensive disciplinary policy with learners where required.
Maintaining records.

About the person

The successful candidate will have excellent teaching and industrial knowledge with a focus on outstanding teaching and learning.

Candidates should also have:

Level 3 in an Engineering discipline
Level 2 in Maths and English
Industrial knowledge in an Engineering background
Experience of analysing data and writing reports
ICT competency
Desirable to have experience in an educational environment or understand and awareness of the awarding bodies in education

As a locum consultant in respiratory medicine, you will be applying your skills across both the acute respiratory medicine and general medicine fields to support patient demand throughout the hospital. Your skills, knowledge and experience are critical to the provision of patient care services throughout the hospital, especially for those with complex medical problems involving multiple symptoms and conditions.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

As a locum Respiratory Consultant with Northern Lincolnshire & Goole Hospitals NHS Trust you will:

• Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis and treatment options using various methods to ensure practical understanding.
• Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment.
• Provide constant monitoring and care for patients.
• Communicate with patients and the wider multidisciplinary team on shared patient decision making.
• Work in and where appropriate, lead a multidisciplinary team.
• Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.
• Recognise, review, and report a patient's condition and any changes to the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
• Performing basic administrative and clerical tasks, such as keeping records of test results, writing prescriptions, providing information to patients, and monitoring treatment plans.
• Conduct research to help develop and test techniques and equipment that can improve procedures and outcomes

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

Essential

• Be a GMC registered Doctor (you do NOT need to be on the Specialist Register).
• Have relevant experience at Consultant level, or references to support your transition up to Consultant level.
• Hold evidence of stand-alone Right to Work in the UK (unfortunately locum jobs aren't able to offer visa sponsorship)
• You will need to pass an enhanced background check (DBS).

Job Purpose This is a training role within the NHS England service. The post-holder will work within the NHS Talking Therapies service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post holder will work in the service for three days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the other two days. The post holder will work flexibility within the operating hours of the service, and progress to Band 7 upon successful completion of the course and application is made for accreditation with the BABCP. Main Duties and Responsibilities 1. CLINICAL 1.1. Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service 1.2. Assess clients suitability for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and follow the relevant pathways, if not appropriate 1.3. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the services referral protocols, and refer clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary. 1.4. Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients. 1.5. Educate and involve family members and others in treatment, conveying CBT formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language. 1.6. Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient. 1.7. Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate. 1.8. Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service. 1.9. Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols 1.10. Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach. 1.11. Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process 2. TRAINING AND SUPERVISION 2.1. Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post. 2.2. Apply learning form the training programme in practice 2.3. Receive supervision from educational providers in relation to course work to meet the required standards. 3. PROFESSIONAL 3.1. Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating, professional and accrediting bodies (eg BPS, UKCP, BABCP), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence). 3.2. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times. 3.3. Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of CBT 3.4. Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development. 3.5. Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager. 3.6. Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives. 3.7. Keep all records in relation to Continued Professional Development up-to-date and ensure Personal Development Plans contains specialist knowledge of the latest theoretical developments. 3.8. Attend relevant conferences / workshops in line with identified professional objectives. 3.9. Be involved in the positive promotion of NHS Talking Therapies to other services and the local community, taking ownership of the services success by monitoring their own performance. 4. GENERAL 4.1. To contribute to the development of best practice within the service. 4.2. To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and procedures in relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services. 4.3.
