We are looking for a full-time waiting list C-Section waiting list Ordinator with a cross cover for Gynaecology and Gynaecology Oncology. This is permanent contract working within a small team that is managed by our Senior Waiting List Co-Ordinator/Team Leader.

You will need to be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player, with excellent organizational and communication skills. You will have a good understanding of the 18-week RTT pathways, the Patient Access Policy and be trained in PAS. You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of patient confidentiality.

The post holder will provide waiting list management for the Obstetrics C-Section waiting list. This role relies on close working relationships with patients, consultants, secretaires, receptionist, the management team, and theatre teams.

Main job role responsibilities –
• Arranging patients C-Section dates
• Managing C-Section requests on ICE
• Managing and actioning the Elective Procedure inbox
• Arranging patient inductions on Cley
• Attending and presenting issues at the C-Section escalation meeting weekly
• Working with our Obstetrics secretaries
• Handling patients queries via telephone and email
• Liaise with ward and theatre staff
• Use PAS to book patients TCI’s
• Ensuring the Elective CS Booking system is correct with planned patients coming in and correct information added.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a committed team of office, laboratory and Consultant Pathologist staff. The department encourages active professional development and further educational activities. The service is expanding Biomedical Scientist advanced dissection and Biomedical Scientist reporting roles. The service is also currently developing digital pathology reporting, and is progressing towards full digital reporting. We also use CEREBRO specimen tracking system.

If you do not meet the full criteria for the band 6 job role, we will also consider applications from candidates at IBMS registered practitioner level or equivalent, who are working towards the IBMS specialist diploma (Histopathology) or have the necessary experience to be able to work towards completing this qualification. This is a substantive appointment to a new Specialty Doctor position within Older People’s Medicine department (OPM). This post is in Geriatric medicine working in acute geriatric medicine inpatients and outpatients covering a broad range of subspecialties within the care of the older person including ortho-geriatrics, dementia, delirium and acute illness. OPED:Our continued work on Frailty identification and intervention has seen a significant redesign of our services; this led in 2017 to the creation of a dedicated Older Peoples ED (OPED).



This service is situated within the emergency department’s footprint. The focus of the service is to identify Frailty and expedite tailored expert intervention between the hours of 8am and 6pm, seven days a week. OPED consists of a four trollied bay and 2 side rooms where patients are assessed by the team. The daily team consists of specialty doctors, ACPs and a consultant geriatrician working in conjunction with the Early intervention team which consists of a physio/occupational therapist. The team also reviews those patients in other parts of the emergency department including resus. Patients if requiring admission are triaged appropriate depending on working diagnosis

Acutely unwell older patients are selected for OPM while in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), using a locally developed system of triage which is a hybrid of age-related and needs-related systems. The age cut-offs vary according to the presentation of the patient. Approximately43%of acute medical emergencies are triaged to OPM by the current criteria.



All OPM acute inpatients are accommodated on a single site in the 1000 bedded Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. There are 5 OPM wards of approximately 36 beds, with nearly 3 consultants for each ward

We have a dedicated Colorectal Surgical team providing complex and major surgery to a catchment area of Norfolk and Waveney. We also receive tertiary referrals from James Paget, Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals.

We are one of the largest dedicated Colorectal Surgery units in England and receive around 450 new colorectal cancer referrals per year. Our Surgical services are highly rated and regarded, with excellent surgical outcomes and mortality figures within speciality. The Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialists works closely with the medical team. This involves liaising with Colorectal Consultants, registrars and the wider medical team; liaising with Primary Care Teams and other Associated Healthcare Professionals and supporting patients and their families throughout their cancer journey and beyond.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a part of the cancer team within the Gynaecology department as a Patient Pathway Co-Ordinator. This post is pivotal to ensure timely patient pathway progression for both before and after cancer diagnosis. We use the Somerset Cancer Register information system to collect real-time data throughout the patient’s referral, diagnostic and treatment pathways. The data aids the clinical management of the patients and informs progress against the national Cancer Waiting Times standards.

The main objectives of the role are:
• Working with members of the clinical and admin teams to track patients through their cancer pathway.
• Pro-actively monitor individual cancer patients to ensure that they progress through the pathway within the standard timelines and to prevent breaches of national Cancer Waiting Times standards.
• Collect and validate clinical data for mandatory cancer datasets.
• Provide appropriate cover support across the team during periods of annual leave and absence.

You will also be required to offer support to our RTT validator.

Monday - Friday – Hours to be discussed at interview, possible home working can be included.

To co-ordinate the patient journey from referral, through diagnostics, treatment planning and treatment completion, highlighting any potential delays in the pathway and ensuring accurate data collection to support the process in accordance with Departmental, Trust and Network guidelines.

Consultant Cardiology

This a substantive Consultant appointment in Cardiology to support the provision ofpacing services for Norfolk and Waveney, including non-interventional cardiology on-call. The successfulapplicant will join an enthusiastic and cohesive team of22 consultant cardiologists.

This is a 10 PA post, but a candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties as described will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed, the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

3. Provide consultation and advisory service to medical colleagues in other specialties in the Trust.

5. Take part in the Royal College of Physicians continuing medical education programme.

6. Play a full part in the teaching and audit activities of the department. Undergraduates from the UEA Medical School are attached to NNUH regularly for their circulation unit (12 clinical weeks, 24 UEA based), which may involve the successful candidate in bedside (clinic and ward) teaching as well as seminars and PBL feedback.

7. Attendance is expected at the weekly MDT with cardiothoracic colleagues at Papworth, monthly Directorate and clinical governance meetings, and subspecialty MDT. All consultants, including the appointee, will be involved in implementing the Clinical Governance programs of the Trust. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.

Locum Consultant - Fixed term 1 year

This advertisement is for a new post within the department of gastroenterology at the NNUH. We are looking to attract a high-quality Luminal GI Locum Consultant with a subspecialist interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease who wishes to establish themselves as academic clinician scientists.

This post has arisen due to the need to expand our academic staff in alignment with the NNUH Trusts executive research position led by Professor Erika Denton and Professor Kristian Bowles.

The post holder will be expected to be proficient in emergency endoscopy including management of varices (not necessarily gastric varices). The out of hours “on call” commitment will include emergency gastroenterology and hepatology referrals and emergency endoscopy cover for the Trust as part of a formal upper GI bleeding rota that the department offers 24/7 service in accordance with NICE guidelines.

Out of hours endoscopy cover is supported by 2 on-call endoscopy nurses and most cases are scoped in the endoscopy department although emergency theatres and full anaesthetic cover is available for severe cases.ERCP/EUS experience is not required for these posts.We currently have a small bowel capsule service, but if a post holder wished to undertake these, this would also be supported.





Academic Gastroenterology and the Norwich Research Park

The Norwich Medical School within the University of East Anglia and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) are both members of an overarching entity the Norwich Research Park (NRP) which has biomedical science as its major driver and as a deliverable. Consultant Haematologist (10 PA)

We are looking for a colleague to join our forward-thinking and expanding Haematology Department. We would like to recruit a colleague who will develop a specialist interest in lymphoma and also non-malignant haematology.

You will be part of a team of 10 consultants, 5 rotational specialty registrars, 1 academic clinical fellow and 4 foundation year and IMT doctors.

We provide Level 3 Haematology care and all stages of autologous stem cell transplantation by a JACIE accredited service. A high specification Radiotherapy treatment suite is on site. The hospital is a dedicated TYA centre and Haemophilia centre. Our department provides undergraduate teaching at the Norwich Medical School in both clinical and laboratory haematology, as well as having active clinical trials and basic scientific research programmes. Laboratory haematology is part of a managed pathology network across Norfolk and parts of Suffolk (Eastern Pathology Alliance). The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is the ‘hub’ laboratory and provides all community pathology for the network. The NNUH laboratory is UKAS accredited.
