• This position serves as a Land Surveyor in the Division of Lands and Minerals at the Utah State Office.
• Performs work that involves establishing, investigating, and reestablishing land and property boundaries for descriptions of tracts of land.
• Uses professional knowledge of the concepts, principles, and techniques of surveying including underlying mathematics and physical science, in combination with knowledge of land ownership laws.

This position serves as an engineer providing civil engineering expertise for a variety of projects and activities throughout the Office which typically include combinations of complex features. Work can include design. studies. analyses. construction administration, documentation, inspections, assessments, investigations, reviews, cost estimating. specifications writing, compliance evaluations, and evaluating facility capacities and operations. The purpose of this position is to perform work in one or more specialties of hydraulic, hydrologic. geotechnical, structural, highway, and construction management. • Plan/design/maintain road structures or transportation facilities by considering factors such as economics, route location, traffic behavior, and/or vehicle characteristics.

• Review plans and recommendations from field offices for program adequacy and compliance with policies, guidelines, and laws, such as the Endangered Species Act (ESA) of 1973 and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1976.
