Team Overview
The Japan Client Relationship Management (CRM) team is accountable for managing client relationships with payment ecosystem stakeholders such as banks, financial institutions, platformers, eCommerce companies, wallet providers, etc.

What a Sales Planning and Operations Lead of CRM does at Visa:
The primary objective for this role is to ensure that the Japan CRM team is able to deliver highest value to both client and Visa.  This will center on the team understanding client objectives, business challenges and opportunities and collaborating with internal stakeholders to bring the best of Visa’s capabilities to help grow their businesses. 

This role reports to the Head of Japan CRM and comes with people leadership responsibilities. As there is a need to actively collaborate with other functional teams within Japan, it is also a highly visible role.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to gain deep subject matter depth on a multitude of topics on short notice and be skilled at the synthesis of multiple sources of information (qualitative and quantitative) to create real and actionable insight for leadership.  He or she must stay in front of innovation trends in the payments industry and be able to develop an independent point of view on topics in the face of uncertainty and imperfect information.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Sales Planning - to ensure that the team is focused on opportunities of highest value, and that reasonable stretch targets are assigned. This includes a key role during the annual budgeting process to coordinate within the Japan CRM team to develop bottoms-up account level targets for revenue drivers, incentive payments, and net revenue across consumer payments, VAS (value added services) and CMS (commercial and money movement solutions),
• Sales Management - to drive discipline across the team to ensure that account executives are sufficiently identifying and pursuing sales opportunities whilst adhering to procedure to maintain our control environment. A key part of this is enforcing the sales operating model, which includes client segmentation, client coverage model, account planning and sales pipeline management.
• Sales Enablement - to enhance the effectiveness of the team through tools and knowledge management. This includes:
  • Arranging training and providing ad-hoc advice on key processes such as deal structuring, incentives administration and selling VAS and CMS.
  • Driving continuous improvement on internal account review and client QBR (quarterly business review) templates.
  • Managing procedures and documents repository
  • Coordinating analysis to identify opportunities and risks (e.g. competitor analysis, deal renewal pipeline)
• Sales Operation - to drive operational efficiencies to maximize the time that account executives can spend focusing on sales. This includes managing team member(s) that provide centralized administration work for the Japan CRM team.
• Ad hoc coordination work across the Japan CRM team, such as client communications for pricing or rule changes, and remediation of any major issues.

Job Purpose:
 

Senior BDM will be responsible for achieving a Gross Profit Target for a particular product(s) and vendor(s) or area of expertise in sub region. Senior BDM, is product and or vendor sales specialist working with greater team to identify and develop revenue opportunities, and drive partner recruitment and enablement in consultation with vendor(s) Account Managers. Senior BDM also owns and manages sales forecast by revenue margin for respective product or customer set.

Responsibilities:

• New business development

• Recruit new partners for assigned vendor and business unit to broaden own customer base and offer more to existing customers.

• Drive and review opportunity pipeline with Account Managers

• Leverage specialist knowledge of vendor and technology offerings and marketplace to identify opportunities to increase market share.

• Manage the follow-up of all leads created from marketing and sales activities as well as leads received from the vendor.

• Results to be reported to the company's management, marketing and the Vendor where required. Customer relationship

• Take ownership of large and complex accounts at the national level and maintain close relationship with key customers in enterprise value added resellers (VARs), Managed Service Providers (MSPs), cloud service providers or data centers.

• Work with Account Managers to deliver solution proposals to our customers, across multiple vendors.

• Develop existing accounts to maximize their return.

• Enable the company's Account Managers to identify opportunities within their account, deliver an elevator pitch to their accounts and understand the basic benefits and competitive advantages of business offerings and partner programs.

• Sales Strategy Development

• Develop sales strategies required to achieve the defined sales targets for the BU.

• Support sales process in all activities including marketing, advertising, sales promotion and training in order to achieve growth revenue targets.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager Japan to join our international B2B brand RateHawk, develop our business and make the travel world better together!

• Actively promote our new international project;
• Develop and implement sales activities and hit the sales targets to achieve growth and expand presence in assigned territory;

• Sign-up new partners and provide them with extended training of our system;
• Initiate an API deals with the potential and existing partners;

Key Qualifications

• Relevant experience. Ideally, 2-5 years experience in the travel industry and excellent knowledge of the country`s travel market; specialized in sales management or business development of B2B travel companies (preferably with travel agencies/tour operators/TMC);
• Competence in API technology deals;
• Personal skills. Proactive, ambitious, motivated, action-oriented, results-focused, appetite for innovative technology, comfortable with fast-changing business environment, teamplayer;
• Analytical skills. Used to data-driven decision-making, metrics-driven and good with numbers;
• International mindset. Ability to understand and work across a wide range of cultural contexts reflecting ETG’s global presence;
• Languages knowledge. Fluent in Japanese and English, other languages as a plus;
• Readiness for business trips. 40 – 50% of working time might be required for market visits.

We’re currently looking for our first Business Development Specialist to join our team in Japan and work closely with our Country manager to grow our business capabilities.

Role

As a Business Development Specialist, you’ll be responsible for helping grow our network in Japan and keep track of the current trends within the Quantum Computing community. You’ll be expected to attend and speak at relevant deep-tech conferences, help turn potential leads into new business, look at gaps in the market for OQC to move into and work with our global marketing and commercial teams as we scale in Japan.

Skills + experience

To be successful in this role you’ll:

• Be fluent in Japanese both written and spoken
• Have a good grasp of English (written and spoken)
• Have experience working in the Deep-Tech/Emerging-Tech industry and knowledge of market trends in Japan
• Come from a Business Development/Account Management background
• Be confident speaking at and attending conferences related to Quantum Computing 
• Ideally have knowledge of Cloud Computing or HPC and a background selling to HPC/Cloud Customers or selling HPC/Cloud products.
